Recommendation: Here’s The Best Alternative
How does Affiliate Lab help you make money?
The Affiliate Lab is an intensive course designed to impart the skills and knowledge necessary for successful affiliate marketing.
Through detailed instruction and hands-on practice, you will learn how to leverage the power of affiliate marketing to earn substantial commissions by promoting other people’s products and services.
By mastering the techniques taught in The Affiliate Lab, you will be able to optimize your website for high-demand keywords, drive targeted traffic to your site, and convert that traffic into lucrative affiliate sales.
Who is Affiliate Lab for?
The Affiliate Lab is a comprehensive training program that’s perfect for both newbies and experienced affiliate marketers.
It covers everything you need to know, from setting up your first WordPress website to advanced SEO techniques.
Whether you’re just starting out or looking to take your affiliate marketing game to the next level, this program has got you covered.
How is the training structured?
The Affiliate Lab system claims to provide you with all the tools you need to rank higher in affiliate niches.
The course includes over 160 videos that will teach you how to select your niche, create templates, and determine the keyword in your domain name.
In the Facebook group created specifically for Affiliate Lab members, you can ask Matt himself, as well as other Affiliate Lab associates, any questions you might have.
Matt demonstrates step-by-step how to master the process in several training modules.
Let’s take a closer look at each module.
Module 1 – Affiliate Lab Introduction
Basically, this is your typical “welcome to the course” greeting. In addition, you will learn about Matt’s general SEO methodology. There is also an overview of affiliate marketing.
Module 2 – Niche Selection
In this module, you’ll learn all about how to select the right niche for you. Matt will share how to choose the right niche, how to analyze niches (of course the ones in which profits can be realized), what niche sites are and what authority sites are, and how to avoid bad niches.
Module 3 – Onsite SEO
In this module, you’ll discover how to select a domain and host, conduct keyword research, choose a site structure, and write compelling content that can definitely position you well in high-competition niches.
A lot of people overcomplicate niche selection, which results in covering a hundred different topics simultaneously. The key is picking a niche and building your authority around it.
Module 4 – Off-site SEO
To summarize, offsite SEO is all the actions you undertake away from your website. Link-building is essentially what it is all about.
Matt will give you his link-building blueprint along with videos in this section of the course.
BONUS 1: The Beginner’s Lab
You will be able to access instructions on how to create your own website (step-by-step) and get your own WordPress account, where you will be able to get your domain name and select your website host.
BONUS 2: Exclusive Facebook Group.
Here you can get answers to all of your SEO questions from the Affiliate Lab members, especially the top affiliate marketers.
As a result, you will learn more ways to make your career as an SEO successful.
BONUS 3: Conversion Rate Optimization Masterclass
It is possible in this way to increase your affiliate income overnight by making small changes that can have an impact on your sales.
BONUS 4: Featured Snippets Masterclass
Matt will cover the steps on how to take away featured snippets from your competitors and the factors that make it difficult to obtain your own featured snippet.
BONUS 5: Authority Blueprint
In the Affiliate Lab website description, it is stated that this bonus will give you a ‘definitive blueprint’ on how to dominate Google by converting your niche site into an authority site.
BONUS 6: Website Flipping Masterclass
This masterclass teaches you how to maximize your profits from your site to the tune of 32x-40x. Gregory Elfrink of Empire Flippers reveals these insider keys.
BONUS 7: Outreach Masterclass
Matt’s method for building links will be taught to you through this method. Additionally, you will find out how to do and manage outreach in a creative manner to get a flood of links to your site.
BONUS 8: The Kitchen Sink + Medic Buster + Penalty Recovery
With this bonus, Matt will show you three blueprints he uses to unstick sites, deal with new update requirements, and protect your site from algorithm penalties.
BONUS 9: Affiliate Email Marketing Masterclass
As an affiliate, this bonus might help you build a safety net around your site. Additionally, it improves the odds that your e-mail will be delivered, read, and acted upon.

Are students getting results?
Sure, there are some positive reviews on the sales page for Affiliate Lab and on their Facebook page, but it’s tough to know if they’re legit.
I couldn’t find any success stories on other review sites like Trustpilot. If the course is really effective, you’d think there would be plenty of students singing its praises.
Praise for Affiliate Lab
1. There are lots of biased reviews from their affiliates
You probably have found some other reviews of Affiliate Lab and all of them are saying good words.
All of them, however, actually receive a large commission if you purchase Affiliate Lab using their links. Therefore, their words are often biased and not trustworthy.
The reviews are merely sales pages that do not inform you about the hidden costs or the difficulty of making money using Matt’s strategies.
Affiliate Lab is sold for $997, so their affiliates can earn almost $500 commission (since the commission rate is usually 50%) if you use their links to buy the course.
Should you trust someone who has a conflict of interest and receives huge compensation to “review” a course? No, probably not. It’s not a review, it’s a sale!
Therefore, I recommend reading the reviews of those written by the non-affiliates of Affiliate Lab.
I tried to search for the real user reviews of Affiliate Lab on Trustpilot, which is the most credible review site:
However, it’s weird to find no reviews at all on Trustpilot. This is unusual for a course that claims to have helped thousands of people succeed in affiliate marketing.
If it’s true, there should be many good ratings there.
2. The course is overpriced
Affiliate Lab costs $997, which is more expensive than other affiliate marketing courses.
If you want to start an affiliate site, you also have other costs like web hosting, keyword research tools, and other software or plugins to add the necessary functionality to your website.
So in total, you may have to invest $3K to $5K to build your affiliate marketing business at the beginning.
After all, Affiliate Lab is merely a course. It’s not an all-in-one platform that gives you everything you need to build an affiliate site from scratch.
It’s risky to invest a thousand dollars in a course, while you are not sure it works or not.
3. Lack of success stories and testimonials
While Affiliate Lab claims that a lot of their students see results from the training, there is no verified evidence to show this.
You may see some reviews posting screenshots from their Facebook group as proof of the success stories. But there is no way to verify if those are true results or not.
Also, some students who joined Affiliate Lab’s course are not beginners, and they already have a well-established website before joining.
So their results might not be attributed to the training of Affiliate Lab. In fact, their only reason for joining Affiliate Lab is to become affiliates.
Moreover, while Affiliate Lab teaches people how to make money with affiliate sites, most of their revenue comes from their courses instead of affiliate marketing. That makes the whole thing not convincing at all.
Affiliate Lab owns the website Authority. Builders, where they sell you SEO services.
Since Matt claims to be an SEO expert, do you expect him to generate a lot of free traffic for this website?
I expected so. However, most of the time Matt is just running Facebook ads to promote its link-building service.
4. Upsells for Affiliate Lab’s link-building services
Affiliate Lab is pitching you their link-building services on their website Authority Builders.
Prices are so expensive, even the cheapest price to get a backlink will set you back $177.
But Google states clearly that paying for links that pass PageRank is against the Webmaster Guidelines and could harm a site’s ranking in search results.
If you are not penalized yet, it’s just because of luck.
Below is what Google talks about link schemes:
You can learn more about the policy here.
In another word, your website might be penalized by Google if you pay for the link-building campaigns from Affiliate Lab.
If you are not penalized yet, it’s purely because of luck.
Once Google penalizes your website, all your website content will be ranked lower, which will destroy all your traffic. All your time and efforts invested in the website will be wasted. It’s really a disaster.
Moreover, as Google’s algorithm becomes smarter because of artificial intelligence, the importance of backlinks is reducing. Google understands that backlinks are easy to manipulate.
Google is trying to focus on the relevancy and quality of content when deciding which one to rank higher.
Having relevant and high-quality backlinks is helpful for ranking higher on Google, but they are not essential for creating an authority site.
You will naturally receive backlinks from other websites as you create more quality content and rank for more keywords. Gradually, your domain authority will increase.
5. No examples of successful affiliate websites
If you’re looking for a digital program that can show you successful affiliate websites they’ve built, Affiliate Lab might not be the one for you. It looks like the founder, Matt Diggity, is more focused on making money from selling courses and backlinks than actually helping others succeed in affiliate marketing.
When you visit their website, https://affiliatelab.im, all you’ll find is a sales page. There’s not even a blog section, which is pretty important for SEO and getting free traffic to your website.
Even though Matt claims to teach people how to build an authority site and drive traffic through SEO, his own website only gets a few hundred visitors a month. That’s pretty weak compared to other SEO experts out there.
So, how is Affiliate Lab reaching a wide audience? My guess is that they’re spending a lot of money on Facebook ads. If that’s the case, it’s kind of ironic since they’re supposed to be teaching you how to drive traffic through SEO.
6. No free trial or money-back guarantee
There is no free trial for Affiliate Lab’s course. You have to pay a thousand dollars upfront to get started. The risk is much higher in case you don’t like the course or don’t feel good about it.
Even worse, they don’t offer any refund. You won’t be able to get back your hard-earned money even if the course doesn’t live up to their promise.
7. No technical support
You will probably require technical assistance sometimes if you are new to online marketing. Affiliate Lab, however, only offers courses, not technical support.
Therefore, if you encounter technical problems with your website, you have no one to contact. Newbies in online marketing should be concerned about this.
After paying so much for the course, you will feel helpless when you expect to receive all kinds of support.

Criticism of Affiliate Lab
1. Comprehensive training
The video training course is comprehensive. It’s packed with 160 lessons, which is way more than most courses out there.
And it’s not just quantity over quality either – the course is legit and packed with valuable information.
You’ll learn everything from how to create websites to how to rank them in search engines.
2. High-quality bonuses
Matt throws in a bunch of extras like checklists and templates to help you breeze through the course. Plus, he’s got a bunch of short masterclasses that go more in-depth on some of the topics covered in the course.
3. Private community
Students can get access to a private Facebook group where you can ask Matt and other members of Affiliate Lab questions. It’s a great resource, but don’t expect lightning-fast answers – the group isn’t super active.
Overall, Affiliate Lab is a solid choice for anyone looking to learn affiliate marketing.
How much does Affiliate Lab cost?
Buying Affiliate Lab’s training program will cost you $997. You can also pay it off in two installments of $597 ($1,194 total) if that’s more practical for you.
Purchasing the course gives you instant access to:
- The Affiliate Lab Course
- The Beginner Lab
- An Exclusive Private Facebook Group
In addition to the material in the main course, you’ll have access to a series of “mini” courses on topics such as increasing your affiliate commissions, driving traffic to your website, and more.
The Affiliate Lab does not offer refunds.
All sales are final for The Affiliate Lab. No refunds are issued for online courses once a sale is completed.
Is Affiliate Lab a scam or legit?
Affiliate Lab is not a scam. Their course does offer some value. If you buy their courses, you can learn how to do affiliate marketing for sure.
However, I am not a fan of their method, building an authority site is no easy task even using Matt’s blueprint.
In fact, as mentioned earlier, even Matt himself is not building an authority site to drive traffic for the Affiliate Lab course. If the teacher can’t make it, how can the students?
In fact, Matt is making most of his money from selling courses and backlinks, but not affiliate marketing. That makes the whole thing unconvincing.
You should always learn from the practitioner, meaning someone who has the most success in what they teach.
Moreover, there is no reason to go for Affiliate Lab when there are other better alternatives, which are much cheaper, but offer you much more value and can help you succeed faster.
I will tell more about another training platform in the next section.
Is There a Better Alternative?
So what’s the best alternative to Affiliate Lab? My #1 recommended platform is called Wealthy Affiliate.
Wealthy Affiliate is an all-in-one platform for building your affiliate marketing business from scratch.
When you join Wealthy Affiliate, you can get access to the first-class web hosting service, keyword research tools, community support, comprehensive training, writing tools, and other software to help you build an online business step-by-step.
You can register a free account with Wealthy Affiliate, which enables you to get started with affiliate marketing right away without paying a penny.
If you like the platform, you can then upgrade to the premium membership to get access to everything on the platform. There are no upsells afterward.
But How Much Can You Earn with Wealthy Affiliate?
A 21-year-old student from Wealthy Affiliate was able to earn $7,395 in just 1 week, which means he made more than $1k a day…all while applying what is taught inside Wealthy Affiliate.
Compared with Affiliate Lab, Wealthy Affiliate has a much longer history, which has been established for 15 years and there are many success stories in the past decade.
Actually, Wealthy Affiliate has more than a million members so far, so you can see how popular this platform is.
To give you more examples, here are some of the other inspiring success stories of Wealthy Affiliate members.
If you don’t trust my words, you can go to Trustpilot to see what the members have to say:
At the time of writing, Wealthy Affiliate is rated 4.9 out of 5, which is excellent. It’s incredible to get such a high rating with 539 reviews.
If there are only two or three good reviews, you may say they are fake reviews. But you cannot fake it when there are more than 500 reviews there. Remember, Trustpilot has a very intelligent system to detect fake reviews.
Where to Join Wealthy Affiliate?
Wealthy Affiliate has a very simple pricing scheme. It has a free and premium membership. The premium membership only costs $49/month or $395/year.
If you want to feel about Wealthy Affiliate, you can sign up for the free starter membership here (no credit card required). You can select to be a free member with no time limit.
And as a starter member, you can get instant access to the community, live chat, over 500 training modules, 2 classrooms, networking, commenting, 1 free website, and access to the keyword tool.
You can enjoy all these values without paying a penny.
So I strongly recommend you register a free account and see it yourself.
