Mikey Kass – The Ecom Good Life Review, Scam or Legit?

If you are interested in dropshipping, you might have heard of Mikey Kass who is pitching his course The Ecom Good Life.

But it’s hard to discern whether the course can really help you scale your dropshipping store. Does Mikey really know some secret hacks? Or is Mikey a scam?

To give you an answer, I’ve dived into the background of Mikey and his models on dropshipping to see if it is possible to generate six-figure income in a few months.

At the end of this article, I’ll also tell you a much better alternative that can help you create six-figure passive income at zero cost.

Below is what I’ll cover in the review of Mikey Kass and his programme.

Who is Mikey Kass?

Mikey became a full-time entrepreneur when he was just 18 years old. He started his dropshipping business at 17 and made $150k per month. This led him to drop out of high school and live in a home in Hollywood hills.
Mikey Kass – The Ecom Good Life Review, Scam or Legit?

His parents were suspicious of his business and asked lawyers to conduct due diligence on his stores.

That’s why he had once been chased by cops, monitored by private investigators and interviewed by lawyers who asked him how he could possibly make a 6-figure income.

But after a year went by, Mikey decided to create a dropshipping course to share his knowledge. This gave birth to the training programme “The Ecom Good Life” which is a series of video lessons revealing to people how he managed to make his Hollywood dream come true.

  • Learn how to do product research and sell to customers in the right way
  • Simple steps to create a successful Facebook ad campaign to promote your product
  • Show you how to negotiate with suppliers
  • Learn about the success habits and mindsets

Below are some of the methods Mike has learnt over the 4 years and he promises to show you in the course.

  • He shows you how he maintains 40-50% net profit on 6 figures a month

What’s Inside The Ecom Good Life Course?

As in the case of most dropshipping courses, the Ecom Good Life comes with a set of video lessons where Mickey shares his secrets to every member.

  • Facebook/ Instagram Ads – These videos teach you how to use marketing strategies that can get your ads to attract customers and bring them to your store
  • Shopify Store Creation – Mikey shows you how to build a dropshipping store from scratch
  • Winning Product Research – These lessons teach you how to find the winning products that can generate sales
  • Mindset – Mikey teaches you some mindset stuff to help you cope with the challenges in dropshipping.
  • Music Playlist – As a young boy, Mike is creative enough to include a music playlist to motivate you, though I don’t see the point of paying for a playlist of tunes which is available on Youtube for free.

Is Mikey Kass a Scam?

I cannot say Mikey Kass is a scam for legal reasons.

He may be one of the youngest entrepreneurs in dropshipping, although there is no verified proof.

But you can use your common sense. Would you trust an 18-year old who claims that he made over $653k in 4 months from a single store? Does it sound unrealistic?

Sometimes it can be hard to know if the figures were fabricated.

Because you can create as many orders as you want for a Shopify store and in most cases, the income proof is not profit. The dropshipping gurus seldom show you the Facebook ads cost which can eat away over 90% of the proceeds.

Also, think about it, if Mikey really has the secrets of success in dropshipping, why would he disclose this million dollar secret to you? It doesn’t make sense.

Lastly, even if it really worked for him a few years back, it doesn’t mean it will work for you today. The world of online marketing and dropshipping is changing very fast. Many marketing strategies used by marketers few years ago are no longer effective.

Is dropshipping still a viable option in 2020?

As an experienced dropshipper, what I can tell you is that dropshipping has become increasingly difficult. If you want to build a 6 figure dropshipping business, you need to shed some blood, sweat and tears to figure out how it works.

Here are a few points why I would not recommend dropshipping:

1. Financial Risk

Your dropshipping store won’t sell ANYTHING if you don’t ADVERTISE. But Facebook ads costs are skyrocketing and will eat away your PROFITS. You might need weeks or even months to just break even, before seeing any profit.

In another word, you have to take a huge FINANCIAL RISK in dropshipping.

2. Facebook ads are Pricey and Difficult

After observing most dropshippers’ results, at best, the total Facebook ad cost will account for at least 30% of your total sales.

But Facebook ads seldom stay effective for too long. Once your ad has exhausted the audience, it becomes ineffective. Your total revenue will be much lower and even result in net loss.

According to Forbes, Facebook saw an increase in Ad costs of 90% year-on-year.

Worse still, the learning curve of Facebook ads is quite steep because Facebook changes its algorithm all the time. You have to invest a lot of time and money in learning and testing Facebook Ads.

If you run Facebook ads without any experience, your ad account will be banned for violating their strict policies.

3. Customer Support

In dropshipping, you have to spend a lot of time communicating with suppliers and dealing with customer service.

If your customer has any issues with the product, you have to wait for your supplier to help you. If your supplier is not helpful, you have to bear the loss yourself. Therefore, many dropshipping stores have poor customer review and have no returning customers.

In the worst case, you would expect a lot of credit card chargebacks, which risk getting your payment gateway shut down.

4. A lot of work on product research

For your store to keep making money, you always have to find a product that has the momentum to go viral in order that the ads costs can be covered.

In dropshipping, most products reach their peak in 1-2 months or even weeks. This is because many competitors will steal your product and create a better ad. Or increase their budgets on Facebook ads to outbid you.

Therefore, you need to keep finding new replacements to keep generating cash flow.

You might see people post revenues online but they don’t tell you the net revenue.

Some of them might be making money but it’s not sustainable.

The dropshipping business model is not as passive as you think. Most people who succeed in dropshipping are doing it full time because it requires you to keep finding new products, creating new stores, testing new ads and looking for new suppliers to make your income stable.

Is There an Easier & Better Alternative to Dropshipping?

If you don’t want to waste your time or risk your hard earned money, you might wonder if there is a better business model that doesn’t need Facebook ads and can do it as a side-hustle.

Yes, I would suggest you getting started with affiliate marketing. It is far easier and less time consuming as you don’t even need to handle customer service.

In affiliate marketing, you can run your business almost with zero cost. Most importantly, you don’t need to invest in creating and developing any products.

But How Much Can You Earn in Affiliate Marketing?

A 21-year old student from my #1 recommended training platform of affiliate marketing was able to earn $7,395 in just 1 week, which means he made more than $1k a day…all while using free traffic methods and affiliate marketing.

  1. Mikey Kass is a scam, I got into his program, did not like the content, I did everything the refund policy states and his “team” has ignored me since, he only wants your money. He got me for $1,500 dollars

    • Wow! Dillon, I’m sorry to hear that. Did you go through PayPal. Because if you did you could get your money back through their resolution center also through credit card if you use PayPal.. thank you for your story. I was seriously looking into doing something with Shopify

  2. Yes WealthyAffiliate is honest people within the community more than willing to help and the training is unmatched anywhere else. I will give also a thumbs up to Anthony Morrison and what he has been doing, very knowledgeable guy.

    • Hi! Thanks for your comment. Yes, Wealthy Affiliate is a very helpful community. It’s one of the most popular online platforms in the world. Anyone who is new online business should go to Wealthy Affiliate instead of Mikey Kass’s course.

  3. The Ecom Good Life is not good. It’s hard to make money with it. I always think the only one who is making money is Mikey kass.

  4. Thank you for all the advice. I was thinking about taking the course, and with all the negative feedback, I have changed my mind. It’s too costly to do dropshipping these days. I will try Wealthy Affiliate. Thanks!

  5. Thank you for your advice. It looks much safer to start with affiliate marketing. Can I get free training on Wealthy Affiliate?

  6. My name is Jeremy Leonard. I am a mortgage broker by day and a drop shipper by night. I have been building my MyToolBoxx (“https://mytoolboxx.com”) store for 4 months now and I came across Mikey Kass & his team. I actually have an appointment with them at 12:30 pm which is in 30 minutes from now to see what this is all about. I then came across this posting so of course, I am a little skeptical of his course. For $17 and for an additional $29.99 i was able to secure a meeting with them, a shopify store and a bonus set of items i am currently trying to locate lol. They have already designed and set me up with a beauty dropshipping store which honestly doesn’t look too bad. I will attend the meeting with them and then leave another comment on here with the results of this meeting. I dont plan on spending any money with them upfront as soon as someone asks me for even $1 extra I will be turned off by this whole sale. to be continued…

  7. Mikey’s parents are right to feel suspicious of him because he is a scammer. The only thing he did was sell a useless ecom course. Indeed, I wonder if he made up the story himself. Ecommerce gurus are generally good storytellers.

  8. Mikey Kass is a scammer I requested a refund because I realized I made an impulsive decision and requested a refund for the $997 mentoring the next morning after I purchased. They refused and told me I would have to do 50% of the work in 7 days or there would be no refund. I hadn’t even received my store yet, just videos to watch, no 1 on 1 call, nothing yet. And still won’t get a refund.

    • Im reporting him because they are a scam from what Im ready and greedy. He appear to have already made enough money but still selling his wack ecom.

  9. yeah Mikey Kass got my $500 plus the $17. He did finally hop on the 1 on 1 call but it was the most general drop shipping advice you could ever give someone, buddy’s a fraud.

  10. Mikey Kass is a big scam. Don’t trust his words.
He tells a lot of lies.
I doubt if he can make any money himself. He is scamming people into his course and make money himself.

  11. I had an apt with him today at 1. He asked me for another $3000. He asked for $1000 more from you? Why did he ask more from me?

  12. Who can I file a complaint with about Mikey Kass? He took my $500 and I’ve got nothing for it. I’ve emailed and text the number given and have only been ignored.

  13. Unfortunately i fell for their “good life” SCAM also and they told me beyond the $500 they already got from me, they would need $1500 more to make it work, so, then i asked for my initial $500 money back within the 3 days right to recend the contract, by texting the whole Mikey Kass team, they all ghosted me, but i also sent the request for a refund by email to their support, and i got an auto reply acknowledging the text and nothing more. So i contact my Capital One credit card company and said i need to start a reversal of the charges, so now they reply to that and say i accessed all of their crap courses and i did not request a refund until 20 days later, so i uploaded copies of my emails to my Capital One credit card folks , and the dammed Capital One folks, who all have foreign accents, tell me that my copies of emails showing them that Mikey Kass Team is lying, was not proof enough, and that they believe those felony criminal liars, so i tell Capital One that they are aiding & abetting Felony Theft, and they reply that they do not care. So now i got another Capital One Criminal action against me as well. ECOM THEFT LIFE should be their name for the scammers, as well as Capital One Company name too! pdwin(nineteenseventyfive)@gmail is where u can verify all that
