Mikey Kass – The Ecom Good Life Review, Scam or Legit?

If you are interested in dropshipping, you might have heard of Mikey Kass who is pitching his course The Ecom Good Life.

But it’s hard to discern whether the course can really help you scale your dropshipping store. Does Mikey really know some secret hacks? Or is Mikey a scam?

To give you an answer, I’ve dived into the background of Mikey and his models on dropshipping to see if it is possible to generate six-figure income in a few months.

At the end of this article, I’ll also tell you a much better alternative that can help you create six-figure passive income at zero cost.

Below is what I’ll cover in the review of Mikey Kass and his programme.

Who is Mikey Kass?

Mikey became a full-time entrepreneur when he was just 18 years old. He started his dropshipping business at 17 and made $150k per month. This led him to drop out of high school and live in a home in Hollywood hills.
Mikey Kass – The Ecom Good Life Review, Scam or Legit?

His parents were suspicious of his business dealings and hired lawyers to do due diligence on his business.

As a result, he was once followed by the police, monitored by private detectives, and questioned by lawyers who asked him how he was able to earn a six-figure income in the first place.

But after a year went by, Mikey decided to create a dropshipping course to share his knowledge. This gave birth to the training programme “The Ecom Good Life” which is a series of video lessons revealing to people how he managed to make his Hollywood dream come true.

Does The Ecom Good Life Work?

If you are thinking of entering the dropshipping industry, you should first learn about this topic.

This course can be helpful if you are new to Shopify and the dropshipping industry. It is all-inclusive and provides everything you need.

Although this course is comprehensive, I find the price prohibitive for someone just starting out.

You are not sure if you even want to go through with this project. I would not invest money in something you are not completely convinced about at this point.

That being said, however, keep in mind that you can only learn so much through training. Still, success is in your own hands. The only things you will learn in this course are techniques that may or may not help you. Even if you follow all the instructions carefully, there is no guarantee that you will be successful.

Mikey Kass Net Worth

According to Forbes, YouTube star Mike Kass has a net worth of $4 million and earns $500,000 annually.

What is Dropshipping?

In this part of my review of The eCom Good Life, I will explain what “dropshipping” means.

Now that you know what you will learn in this course, you might decide that this course is ideal for you. The dropshipping model allows you to avoid having to start from scratch when developing a product.

So here is how dropshipping works. You discover a product (usually on AliExpress), add it to your Shopify shop’s offering, and then promote it with ads on social media.

Once your ads reach your niche, you can expect an influx of sales. Really, it’s that simple.

Manufacturing and storage costs make it impossible for small businesses to stock and sell their own products. You can only do that if you have hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of dollars on hand (depending on the items you want to manufacture).

Dropshipping does not require you to keep stock or maintain a warehouse. Your orders are automatically processed and shipped by AliExpress.

Many people use this method because it is easy to implement and requires fewer resources than creating your own product from scratch.

Print-On-Demand

It is suitable for a merchandise shop. Selling your art as a product can be a great way for you as an artist to make money.

You design the motif and then contract with a company or individual to have it printed on their merchandise.

They can then mail it to your customers. Really, it’s that simple. The most commonly purchased items are t-shirts, coffee mugs and baseball caps.

You need a way to cover the product cost before you can offer it to customers.

You also need to pay for advertising, and word-of-mouth shows that the success of the dropshipping model is not guaranteed.

Private Label Dropshipping

To be successful with dropshipping, you must first choose a product that sells well.

The next step is to find a company that produces it under its own brand name. A recognizable name on the products will give customers the assurance that they are getting high-quality goods.

However, this is a risky venture because you will have to advance the money for the goods before you can sell them. You may not be able to sell anything at all.

Pros of The Ecom Good Life

Good Training On Ads

The success or failure of a business often depends on its advertising. It is not always the quality of the product that contributes to the success of a business, sometimes it is the marketing.

I was very impressed with the level of teaching in this course.

Cons and Complaints of The Ecom Good Life

1. Not Comprehensive Enough

To be honest, the course lacks depth. A sense of urgency pervades the whole thing. Dropshipping business strategy seems pretty complicated, so I doubt this course can really help you.

I think Mikey himself is the main point of interest. While it’s true that he eventually succeeded, his story is hardly representative of the norm. More people could benefit from taking his course.

2. Lots Of Free Resources Available

This training is for those who’ve decided to pursue a full-time career in the industry. Even if you think the price is reasonable, it’s part of the company’s overhead.

If you’re a beginner and don’t know the basics yet, I recommend looking for free internet resources first.

3. Dropshipping Is Risky

Getting into this business is extremely risky, and I’ve described the risks in detail in the earlier sections. Dropshipping is risky because you cannot guarantee the high quality of your goods, and the market is already saturated with sellers.

The Ecom Good Life Pricing

The price of this course is $497. Compared to other courses I have looked at, the price is actually quite reasonable. The price is reasonable considering how much you will learn, from the basics to the advanced concepts.

Even though this course is cheaper than others, I still would not advise you to buy it if you are still on the fence about it. This is because there is a lot of free content that can be accessed via the Internet.

Is Mikey Kass a Scam or Legit?

I cannot say Mikey Kass is a scam for legal reasons.

He may be one of the youngest entrepreneurs in dropshipping, although there is no verified proof.

But you can use your common sense. Would you trust an 18-year old who claims that he made over $653k in 4 months from a single store? Does it sound unrealistic?

Sometimes it can be hard to know if the figures were fabricated.

Because you can create as many orders as you want for a Shopify store and in most cases, the income proof is not profit. The dropshipping gurus seldom show you the Facebook ads cost which can eat away over 90% of the proceeds.

Also, think about it, if Mikey really has the secrets of success in dropshipping, why would he disclose this million dollar secret to you? It doesn’t make sense.

Lastly, even if it really worked for him a few years back, it doesn’t mean it will work for you today. The world of online marketing and dropshipping is changing very fast. Many marketing strategies used by marketers few years ago are no longer effective.

Positive and Negative Feedback From Students of The Ecom Good Life

Positive Feedback

  • Since he started his dropshipping business, Mikey Kass has earned seven figures.
  • Good training in product research
  • Introduction to Facebook and Instagram
  • You can use Mikey’s Shopify store template for inspiration.
  • The course is now available at a steep discount of 90% or $297.

Negative Feedback

  • This course does not provide in-depth information on how to build a dropshipping business.
  • You can get much of the information in this course for free by following some dropshipping gurus on YouTube.
  • There are no passive revenue streams in the dropshipping industry, and the income you earn is highly unpredictable.

Is Dropshipping Still a Viable Option in 2022?

As an experienced dropshipper, what I can tell you is that dropshipping has become increasingly difficult. If you want to build a 6 figure dropshipping business, you need to shed some blood, sweat and tears to figure out how it works.

Here are a few points why I would not recommend dropshipping:

1. Financial Risk

Your dropshipping store won’t sell ANYTHING if you don’t ADVERTISE. But the cost of Facebook ads skyrockets and eats up your PROFITS. It can take weeks or even months to break even before you see a profit.

In other words, you’ve to take a big FINANCIAL RISK when dropshipping.

2. Facebook ads are Pricey and Difficult

If you look at the results of most dropshippers, the total cost of Facebook ads is at best at least 30% of your total revenue.

But Facebook ads rarely stay effective for long. Once your ad has exhausted its target audience, it becomes ineffective. Your total revenue will be much lower and even result in a net loss.
According to Forbes, Facebook saw an increase in Ad costs of 90% year-on-year.

Worse still, the learning curve of Facebook ads is quite steep because Facebook changes its algorithm all the time. You have to invest a lot of time and money in learning and testing Facebook Ads.

If you run Facebook ads without any experience, your ad account will be banned for violating their strict policies.

3. Customer Support

Dropshipping requires you to spend a lot of time communicating with suppliers and dealing with customer service.

If your customer has a problem with the product, you have to wait for your supplier to help you. If your supplier is not helpful, you have to bear the loss yourself. That’s why many dropshipping stores have poor customer rating and no returning customers.

In the worst case scenario, you will have to deal with a lot of credit card chargebacks, which can lead to your payment gateway being shut down.

4. A lot of work on product research

For your store to keep making money, you always need to find a product that has the momentum to go viral to cover the cost of advertising

In dropshipping, most products peak in 1-2 months or even weeks. This is because many competitors will steal your product and run a better ad. Or they will increase their Facebook ads budgets to outbid you.

Therefore, you need to keep finding new substitutes to keep generating cash flow.

You may see other people posting revenue online, but they do not tell you what the net revenue is.

Some of them may be making money, but it’s not sustainable.

The dropshipping business model is not as passive as you think. Most people who succeed in dropshipping are doing it full time because it requires you to keep finding new products, creating new stores, testing new ads and looking for new suppliers to make your income stable.

The Ecom Good Life: Final Verdict

Before I end this review of The eCom Good Life, I want to say a few things that I learned that might be of use to you.

You might assume that starting a dropshipping business is much easier than starting from scratch and developing your own items, but that’s not the case. There are numerous dangers involved.

Remember, you’ve no control over the products that are shipped to your customers. You can only hope that they’re happy with their purchase and have only positive things to say about it.

Domain hosting, advertising, and virtual assistant compensation (VA) are all expenses that must be incurred regardless of the volume of sales (if you plan to hire some people on your team).

In most cases, I wouldn’t recommend you run a dropshipping business on the side. It’s misleading to call it a “side hustle” because it’ll take up a lot of your time.

What I’m suggesting, on the other hand, is something you can learn quickly. It’s easy to learn, and it won’t cost you a fortune to get started. I will tell you the best alternative to making money online in the next section.

Is There a Better Alternative to Dropshipping to Make Passive Income?

If you don’t want to waste your time or risk your hard earned money, you might wonder if there is a better business model that doesn’t need Facebook ads and can do it as a side-hustle.

Yes, I would suggest you getting started with affiliate marketing. It is far easier and less time consuming as you don’t even need to handle customer service.

In affiliate marketing, you can run your business almost with zero cost. Most importantly, you don’t need to invest in creating and developing any products.

But How Much Can You Earn in Affiliate Marketing?

A 21-year old student from my #1 recommended training platform of affiliate marketing was able to earn $7,395 in just 1 week, which means he made more than $1k a day…all while using free traffic methods and affiliate marketing.

  6. My name is Jeremy Leonard. I am a mortgage broker by day and a drop shipper by night. I have been building my MyToolBoxx (“https://mytoolboxx.com”) store for 4 months now and I came across Mikey Kass & his team. I actually have an appointment with them at 12:30 pm which is in 30 minutes from now to see what this is all about. I then came across this posting so of course, I am a little skeptical of his course. For $17 and for an additional $29.99 i was able to secure a meeting with them, a shopify store and a bonus set of items i am currently trying to locate lol. They have already designed and set me up with a beauty dropshipping store which honestly doesn’t look too bad. I will attend the meeting with them and then leave another comment on here with the results of this meeting. I dont plan on spending any money with them upfront as soon as someone asks me for even $1 extra I will be turned off by this whole sale. to be continued…

  7. Mikey’s parents are right to feel suspicious of him because he is a scammer. The only thing he did was sell a useless ecom course. Indeed, I wonder if he made up the story himself. Ecommerce gurus are generally good storytellers.

  8. Mikey Kass is a scammer I requested a refund because I realized I made an impulsive decision and requested a refund for the $997 mentoring the next morning after I purchased. They refused and told me I would have to do 50% of the work in 7 days or there would be no refund. I hadn’t even received my store yet, just videos to watch, no 1 on 1 call, nothing yet. And still won’t get a refund.

  13. Unfortunately i fell for their “good life” SCAM also and they told me beyond the $500 they already got from me, they would need $1500 more to make it work, so, then i asked for my initial $500 money back within the 3 days right to recend the contract, by texting the whole Mikey Kass team, they all ghosted me, but i also sent the request for a refund by email to their support, and i got an auto reply acknowledging the text and nothing more. So i contact my Capital One credit card company and said i need to start a reversal of the charges, so now they reply to that and say i accessed all of their crap courses and i did not request a refund until 20 days later, so i uploaded copies of my emails to my Capital One credit card folks , and the dammed Capital One folks, who all have foreign accents, tell me that my copies of emails showing them that Mikey Kass Team is lying, was not proof enough, and that they believe those felony criminal liars, so i tell Capital One that they are aiding & abetting Felony Theft, and they reply that they do not care. So now i got another Capital One Criminal action against me as well. ECOM THEFT LIFE should be their name for the scammers, as well as Capital One Company name too! pdwin(nineteenseventyfive)@gmail is where u can verify all that
