Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) is a service provided by Amazon that stores and ships orders for other businesses.

Businesses ship their goods to FBA-specific Amazon warehouses.

What Is FBA Business?

Chapter 1 – Finding Your First Winning Product

As I indicated, Tom is focused exclusively on selling this one thing. There are a total of 19 training videos here that cover different methods for deciding which product you prioritize.

Amazon’s Suggested is just one example of software that can guide you to the right product. There are plenty of markets and merchandise out there, and you can use dedicated software to sift through them and make the best possible selection for your online business.

You’ll also learn which products to avoid and how to make your offers enticing.

Helium 10, a suite of tools that can help you with product research, search engine optimization and product management, is also covered. But you have to buy this on the side.

Chapter 2 – Sourcing Negotiation And Logistics

To become an Amazon seller, you need to build relationships with reliable wholesalers. Undoubtedly, you do not have the time to come up with new product ideas and develop prototypes yourself, which is why you chose to go this route instead of using Shopify.

In this lesson, you’ll find templates that you can use as a starting point for formal correspondence with vendors. There’s also a short video that walks you through the process of negotiating with vendors you want to do business with.

Reviews for your product or service are like free advertising for your business. Save money on marketing by soliciting positive feedback in the form of reviews.

A 25-minute video walks you through the basics of using Feedback Whiz, and there are other movies on how to get positive comments.

You’ll also learn how to motivate buyers to leave positive reviews and how to increase the number of people who look at your product listings.

Chapter 5 – Rank & Bank

Learn how Amazon determines product rankings here. During the training, you will learn how to properly identify and describe your products using keywords. Your goal should be to have your items appear on the very first page.

Why I Don’t Recommend Amazon FBA?

Based on my findings, the typical profit margin for Amazon merchants is only 10%. Keep in mind that these sellers are seasoned professionals, so the actual number for newbies will be much lower.

Expect to encounter some tough competition. To stand out from the crowd, you will have to put in a lot of hard work and effort.

In this section of my FBA Masterclass review, we will explain why I do not recommend this business strategy.

Alternatively, you can try your hand at something that does not require as much time and effort.

Saturated Market

The Amazon marketplace currently has far too many sellers. There are just too many items on the market, and the items you want to sell have probably already been posted by someone else.

As a result, your shop does not stand out from the crowd as much as it should.

Even before you start selling, the odds are against you. If you ask me, it’s pretty much impossible to break into a niche market that is not already saturated with established merchants on a platform with a large number of these sellers.

High Financial Risk

Dropshipping has the potential to reduce several costs, including manufacturing and warehousing costs. However, there are still many costs to consider, even though you will not be managing your shop’s inventory here.

Marketing, branding, supply chain management and product packaging all fall under this category. You still have to pay for expensive advertising even if no one buys from you.

Little Quality Control

When you outsource, you lose control of the final product and its quality. Is there any damage? How long do they last? Do you think the prices you set are reasonable given the quality of the products you offer?

There are often quality issues with mass-produced products, especially those that come from China. Remember that with inexpensive goods, rapid production rates are common, so quality control is not feasible.

Remember that if your customers receive damaged or defective goods from your supplier, they will certainly ask for a refund and leave a negative review. Failure to do so will be bad for your company’s image.

Very Low Profit Margin

The chances of winning are really slim. Making money requires a lot of hard work, but success is by no means certain.

Despite the obvious cost savings, I can not endorse the dropshipping business model because it yields very little profit.

Long Startup Time

There are a number of things that need to be done before you can start making profit from sales. 

There are a number of things you need to focus on before you can open your shop, such as setting up the shop, finding reliable suppliers, and starting an advertising campaign. It may be months, maybe even a year, before you see any profit.

There are more than 300 individual lessons in this course. This means that the business concepts and store building procedures discussed in this course are comprehensive.

Even if you do well in this course and become a successful salesperson, it is helpful for a beginner to have some reference materials on hand.

Tom Wang Cares

Tom Wang is a successful Amazon seller and a dedicated educator. Tom Wang wants to make sure everyone has a positive learning experience. That’s why he provides a feedback section after each module.

What I Don’t Like About Tom Wang’s FBA Masterclass

Very Expensive

Since the price is high, this training is not recommended for beginners. You will have to spend $7k CAD on a bootcamp right away before you can start your business. I highly doubt you have that kind of money available.

Only people who have a serious interest in selling on Amazon should sign up for this course. You can find beginner courses elsewhere that are far cheaper.

No Refunds

Once you have paid for the course, there is no way to request a refund. In other words, you should be quite sure that this is the business model you want to adopt before you spend the money on it.

Is Amazon FBA Masterclass A Scam?

I cannot say Tom Wang’s FBA Masterclass is a scam. Technically, there is no “scam” here. You do not just grab your money and disappear without giving you anything in return.

It is possible to make money with the application, but it’s not as easy as Tom Wang makes it sound.

As with most FBA businesses, there is a significant upfront investment required with little to no chance of success.

You need a lot of luck to come across a fantastic product that few know about, and then you need to flood the market with it while it’s hot.

Tom Wang FBA Masterclass Review: Final Verdict

I have a few more thoughts that might be useful before I conclude this report on the FBA Masterclass.

I think I have made it clear why Amazon FBA is not a business model I can endorse. It’s not as easy as it seems, and you need a lot of knowledge before you even think about doing it.

Doing business on Amazon is a grind. Listing your goods and finding a source of supply are just two parts of the process. It’s not ideal to have a single person handle all the tasks that need to be done on a daily basis.

Even if you do not want to deal with inventory, you still need a significant advertising budget. Plus, ads are not cheap, especially if you want to promote your business on social media.

The yield is really meager, so this is an unjustified waste of time. It’s not even worth doing as a hobby.

In my opinion, the best side hustles are the ones that do not require too much time outside of work. I have never seen anything better than this. It also does not require mastering a lot of complicated procedures. We will go into more detail in the next part.
