Are you looking for a Rainmaker Challenge review? But you may wonder if it is a scam.
They crave a greater degree of personal autonomy. The idea of working remotely to spend more time with your loved ones is tempting.
The Rainmaker Challenge and similar initiatives claim to be helpful, but do they deliver what they promise?
This review is about the basics of the Rainmaker Challenge – what it is, how it works, and whether or not I think it’s worthwhile. I’ll go through what you can learn from it and whether it’s a safe way to go about making money online.
As a disclaimer, I’m not affiliated with Rainmaker Challenge. It means I’m not paid to write this review. So you can rest assured that you will get an honest and unbiased review from me.
At the end of this review, I’ll also tell you the best alternative to Rainmaker Challenge that has enabled me to make a full-time passive income online.
What is The Rainmaker Challenge?
I’m not sure why they call it a ” Rainmaker Challenge” when it’s more of a workshop. Let’s just say it was a rigorous training session.
The course is an introduction to the Amazon FBA business model and can be completed in as little as 7 days. If you aren’t familiar with Amazon FBA, I’ll explain it in more detail below.
For now, just know that it’s a business model that allows you to sell tangible goods to customers from the comfort of your own home through online retail giant Amazon.
The Diaz siblings, Stephen and Chelsey, have developed The Rainmaker Challenge as an ideal business model that you can run while you sleep.
Aimed at stay-at-home moms, this course offers a fresh take on the typical Amazon FBA training by portraying the business as a friendly, welcoming family business.
I prefer working from home to being a stay-at-home mom, but I found her presentation style and structure warm and inviting.
The Rainmaker Family
Although the entire Rainmaker neighborhood is considered part of the extended Rainmaker family, Stephen and Chelsey are its cornerstone and original members.
At summer camp, Stephen and Chelsey became fast friends. They did so for four years before realizing that they would have to close their wedding photography business, Trécreative, if they ever wanted to have children.
Their business was profitable and they had a good salary, but they were still trading their time for money. Plus, it would be difficult to raise a family while working such long hours.
To generate passive income, they experimented with different options such as opening a photo booth, using Airbnb, and making some short-term investments.
They also tried their hand at an e-commerce business, which proved profitable enough to warrant further investigation. As a result, they decided to sell their products through Amazon FBA.
Although Chelsea had doubts, thanks to this plan they were able to get out of the wedding business for good in 2021.
They created Rainmaker Family by training people who learned how to run their own Amazon FBA business.
Is The Rainmaker Challenge a Scam or Legit?
I cannot say The Rainmaker Challenge is a scam. Given the widespread prevalence of scams and questionable ways to make money online, it’s only natural to wonder if The Rainmaker Challenge is a scam.
Although I am by nature a skeptical person who tends to assume the worst, I had a good feeling about The Rainmaker Challenge from the very beginning.
It’s immediately clear that Chelsea and Stephen are real people who are so confident in their product that they’d lend their name and face to it. Also, The Rainmaker Family is a California-based limited liability company (LLC).
The Rainmaker Family Show is a podcast with over 80 episodes currently available (probably more by the time you read this). And more than 130 reviewers have given it five stars on Apple’s podcasting platform.
You will not find any of the usual signs of fraud here (although there are some exceptions). Some high-priced programs advertised by well-known “gurus” are actually designed to separate you from your money. They can afford to spend hundreds of millions of dollars fighting the FTC.
That is certainly not the case here.
In my opinion, the Rainmaker Challenge is not only worthwhile, but also reasonably priced and totally credible.
There is an optional add-on course that can be purchased (after the Challenge), which some might consider a loss leader offer. The goal of the seven-day challenge is to help you figure out if Amazon FBA is right for you, and the value you get is definitely worth the investment.
The legitimacy of Amazon FBA has been questioned due to reports of fraud. They assure you that with minimal work, you can become richer than your wildest dreams. But unfortunately, that’s not the case.
A Fulfillment by Amazon company is a legitimate business. Like any other business, it risks capital on stock, operating equipment, etc., and experiences both success and failure. You can expect to have some successes and failures.
If you seek advice from experienced professionals like Chelsea and Stephen, your chances of success increase significantly. But those who tout Amazon FBA as a way to make millions while drinking margaritas on the beach are probably promoting a scam.
How Does The Rainmaker Challenge Work?
During the 7-Day Rainmaker Challenge, you’ll learn about Amazon FBA along with other people. During these seven days, Stephen and Chelsea will broadcast live each day at 9am PST (12 PM EST).
The call will be broadcast live on the Rainmaker Family Facebook group; the feed can be accessed through the “Featured” section at the top of the page.
It is also recommended to sign up for notifications via text message.
In the Guides section of the group, there is an archive of recordings of the conversations. In this section you can find related guides and bonuses in addition to the daily video.
The Rainmaker Challenge Course Overview
The challenge schedule is designed to help you learn more about the Amazon FBA business concept with each passing day.
Day 1 – Where to Start?
The first day of training consists of learning the basics of Amazon FBA. Chelsea and Stephen discuss methods for achieving goals, the value of “instant wins,” and the importance of understanding your “why”
To make passive income, you need to define and understand your “why” You need to be clear about why passive income is so important to you, because like any other business, it requires a lot of work in the beginning before you see a profit.
Chelsea and Stephen will not only share their experiences, but also have a conversation about the mindset needed to build a successful Amazon FBA business and the fears that stand in the way.
Day 2 – How Much Time Is Required?
It’s hard to generalize about how long it takes to build and run a successful online business. However, as mentioned earlier, you can shorten the time it takes by benefiting from the knowledge and insights of others.
Stephen and Chelsea will share their time-saving business strategies and interview challenge participants and special guests on day two.
Building your business will likely take more time than sustaining it. It takes time to figure out what to do and how to accomplish it, and it’s not always easy to get started. Therefore, you can expect a lot of early starts and late finishes.
But if you persevere, you will be rewarded. It’s hard to put into words how much of an impact passive income can have on your life, but it does. The positive effects on your health of less stress and more time for exercise and healthy eating, for example, may surprise you.
However, building a company does involve some teething problems. Of course, highlighting potential gains like passive income is encouraging, but setting your sights too high can be detrimental.
It is possible to earn six or seven figures with an online business, but it takes commitment and time to learn the ropes, test products and marketing strategies, etc.
Day 3 – How Much Does an Amazon FBA Business Cost?
The third day is dedicated to making a profit to build a good financial foundation.
Learn from Chelsea and Stephen about the Power Profit Tool and the benefits of taking smart risks.
They will also introduce you to the technology and tools you need to start a successful Amazon FBA business and show you different ways to sell on Amazon.
To get started, you’ll need to set aside between $1,000 and $10,000. Your initial expenses will decrease if your first listing is successful, but you can fix that with some experience. Inventory is the biggest drain on your finances. Many factors contribute to a product’s financial failure.
Training programs like The Rainmaker Challenge can help in this regard. The information given on Day 5 is vital as it details what things you should offer, how much profit you should aim for, and where to buy them.
Day 4 – Time-Saving Tools and Strategies
Earning passive income means not actively managing the business. Even though being an entrepreneur has certain advantages over working for someone else, most entrepreneurs still work long hours.
This is an important area where the Internet differs.
Businesses can reach a global audience and streamline processes in ways that were unattainable before the advent of the “brick and mortar” Internet.
Stephen and Chelsea will show you the web-based resources they use on Day Four. Another topic of conversation will be how to discover untapped market potential.
Day 5 – Finding Profitable Products That Sell
On day five, you’ll dive into one of the most imaginative and entertaining facets of running an FBA: deciding what to sell.
Before this challenge, the thought of running an online store may have seemed far off. Once you have an idea of what you want to sell and can make concrete financial projections, your business takes shape.
You’ll gain insight into the product development cycle and methods for identifying and selecting profitable items. How Chelsea and Stephen evaluate products and what they look for in their “four qualifications”
There is general consensus that the online market is becoming increasingly competitive, making it harder to make a profit there. There’s no denying that competition is much tougher than it was five years ago, but that does not mean there are not still opportunities.
The modern online entrepreneur also benefits from certain factors that the first wave of Internet entrepreneurs did not have. For example, we now have access to professionals willing to share their knowledge and improved technologies that make managing an Internet business easier.
Another common misconception is that competition is inherently negative. Certainly this is possible, but it is not always the case.
One of the positive effects of competition is that it discourages some potential entrants.
Of course, there is a point at which competition becomes unhealthy, but we have not yet reached that point.
If your goal was to create something on par with Amazon, then maybe. Instead, use Amazon’s reach to sell to customers who would have been out of reach just a few years ago.
There might come a point when it becomes really difficult to do it as a sole proprietor, but that time has not come yet. That does not mean it’s easy, of course, but for those willing to make the effort, the benefits can be significant.
Day 6 – Sourcing Products and Connecting with Manufacturers
Assuming you have an idea of what you want to market by now, you can start looking at potential customers and retail deals on Day 6.
For many Amazon FBA merchants, finding reliable factories to partner with is a problem. Most of the time, you will not be able to meet the manufacturer in person or visit their production facilities before making an international purchase.
Therefore, it is beneficial to have reliable suggestions.
You do not have to waste resources testing numerous manufacturers, waiting for slow delivery, or the like.
Working with inspection services like QIMA to meet with a manufacturer and create an inspection report is an additional step that many FBA sellers opt for.
This next phase depends entirely on the amount of money you have invested. You should also think about ordering some samples of the products you want to sell.
Day 7 – Accelerating Your Business
Stephen and Chelsea talk about the next steps in becoming a Rainmaker and how to take your business to the next level. They also reveal their best kept business secret and give tips on how to grow your business quickly.
The Rainmaker Family Group/Passive Income Training Community is also available for those who want to continue learning from and sharing with other members.

The Rainmaker Challenge Pros
- The Rainmaker Challenge is an inexpensive way to get started with Amazon FBA. It’s not as in-depth as certain courses, like BJK University, but it does not cost thousands of dollars either.
- An abundance of positive feedback.
- Chelsea and Stephen are serious and dedicated members of the organisation.
- A community that is helpful.
The Rainmaker Challenge Cons
- While I like the Rainmaker approach, and it’s not as “sales-heavy” as other FBA courses, I feel they exaggerate the possibilities and understate the difficulties. But that’s just my opinion.
- The comparatively high startup costs for an Amazon FBA business. This is not meant to be a criticism of the Rainmaker Challenge. It’s simply the reality of starting a business (any business, not just FBA) that requires an initial inventory of actual things.
- Profitability can be deceptive. This is not, to reiterate, a specific criticism of the Rainmaker Challenge. It’s a side swipe at FBA and eComm in general. You’ll read hundreds, if not thousands, of reports, comments, blogs, etc. talking about six and seven figure months or $10,000 days. Almost always, they are talking about total sales volume, not profit.
- Dealing with physical goods. There are logistical challenges, such as delayed and/or damaged products, and profit margins are often lower than when selling services or digital products.
How Much Does an Amazon FBA Business Cost?
It can be harder than you think to start a successful Amazon FBA business. It’s still a fantastic way to start a business, but it carries the same risks and difficulties as any other.
Some additional costs you should keep in mind are:
Online Tools for Product Research, Listing Monitoring, Analytics, Etc.
Stephen uses Helium 10, a product research tool that costs between $39 and $249 per month (and more for customized plans), to illustrate the tool’s capabilities. As a budding Amazon FBA seller, you can get by with the cheaper options.
JungleScout is another product used by many FBA sellers; monthly fees range from $29 to $84.
Product research is simplified by using these tools, which can be used to analyze keyword demand and predict product sales, for example. They can also keep an eye on your Amazon product pages.
Products to Sell
Stockpiling materials will take a toll on your finances.
While it’s possible to spend less than $1,000 on your first purchase, this is fraught with risk. That’s because there’s no guarantee that your first product offering will be a success.
Regardless, many Amazon sellers advise setting your landing costs (for Amazon) at 25% of your targeted sales (before FBA fees).
If you hope to sell 10,000 units and make $10,000 in profit, your unit cost (including delivery) should be no more than $2,500.00. This leaves you room to cover additional costs and make a profit.
You can still make money without spending your own money by taking surveys on sites like Survey Junkie and Inbox Dollars.
Online surveys are an easy way to make some extra money when you’re short on cash, but an FBA business will naturally earn a higher income over time.
Try a new type of internet business if you want to increase your income potential without having stock.
You may not be able to engage in regular employment because you stay at home to care for children or because you have health problems.
In this case, if you want to earn a living exclusively online, you need to have an idea of how to get started.
UPC codes are required for your goods. Of course, the cost is not very high.
Ten codes can be purchased on the Barcode Mania website (barcodemania.com) for $15.00, while five codes can be purchased for $10.00 and a single code for $4.99.
It is not the quantity of a single item sold, but the variety of products that determines the need for unique bar codes. That is, each product must have its own unique bar code (not per unit).
If you want to sell private label items, you need to build your own brand. Your business should also have a logo.
You can get a logo created for free using Canva or hire someone on Upwork, Fiverr or Freelancer to create it for you. Freelancers usually charge between $25 and $100 to create a logo, unless you have very specific requirements.
You cannot list products without images.
Although some manufacturers provide images, you should avoid using generic stock photos. If you rely on stock photos, spice them up with diagrams, charts, notes, etc.
If the vendor doesn’t provide images, you may need to order a sample before you can take your own photos.
In any case, you need good product photos to make sales. You may have avoided buying a product on Amazon because its listing wasn’t appealing due to poor image quality. High quality photos are therefore a crucial factor in running your business.
If you’ve the necessary skills, you can create your own photo package; otherwise, you can contract with a freelancer. For a top-notch photo package, prices of up to $100 per product aren’t uncommon, depending on factors such as the product photos offered by competitors.
Amazon Seller’s Account
Professional seller accounts cost $0.99 per unit or $39.99 per month and grant access to premium placements on product pages.
Amazon FBA Fees (25% of total revenue)
Remember I suggested above that some Amazon FBA sellers advocate setting the cost of goods sold at about 25% of projected sales?
Amazon takes care of the shipping and handling for you, but they charge a fee for it.
The costs associated with advertising and listing large quantities on Amazon, as well as storage and shipping costs, can add up quickly.
Costs are not constant and depend on factors such as the type of product, its size, and the specific requirements of the vendor. Some experts recommend setting aside about 25% of total revenue as a safe estimate.
Although these expenses are optional, you may not want to give them up. But before you spend hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars on inventory, get a sample of what you want to sell.
Amazon FBA Inspection Service – $150 – $300
Another step that can be skipped if desired.
A good example of a company that will inspect both your products and your production equipment is QIMA, a Chinese company that offers its services to Amazon. Prices for such work often range from $150 to $300.
The entire lot can be sent to you first for you to review. You can then send it to Amazon yourself, but this will cost more and take more time.
However, you may be out of luck if your goods are inferior or defective. It might be too expensive to send it back to the manufacturer. Poor quality can cause you to have to sell for a much lower price than you had hoped.
Faulty or broken products can lead to a total loss in the worst case scenario. While this is not very likely, you should still be prepared for it.
If you offer substandard or damaged products, you can expect to receive complaints and refunds. This would be bad for business in general, but it would be especially bad if Amazon suspended your seller account.
How Much Does The Rainmaker Challenge Cost?
In addition to the $47 price tag for the Rainmaker course, Stephen and Chelsea recommend having between $1,000 and $10,000 available to start an Amazon FBA business.
This would take into account both the product price and the stated additional costs, such as Amazon Seller Fees.
Amazon FBA businesses have low overhead costs compared to traditional “offline” businesses. Still, for some people it means a significant financial commitment.
As mentioned earlier, free survey sites like Survey Junkie and Inbox Dollars can be a necessary compromise when money is tight and a few extra bucks would be good right now.
If you’ve never made money online before, they’re an easy first step with low earning potential compared to what The Rainmaker Challenge can offer you.
A commission-based online business is another option for those looking for something bigger.
You may not be able to work because you’re taking care of young children or have a health problem.
If this is the case and you’re looking for a higher income, then you need to know how and where to start.

Rainmaker Challenge Reviews and Complaints
The Rainmaker Challenge has received overwhelmingly good feedback and few concerns.
My usual skepticism about testimonials in this type of situation is tempered by the fact that Stephen and Chelsea appear honest and their guidance seems sincere.
As with most money-making programs, you’ll be faced with some “dream building” and “lifestyle marketing,” but you’ll still end up with something worthwhile.
Fake reviews are easier to spot when they lack the specificity and information found in reviews on sites like Trustpilot.
However, I suspect (although this is only a guess on my part) that feedback is either rewarded or actively sought. However, this does not mean that they are not genuine, only that they may not be entirely natural. This “guess” is based on the clustering of the evaluation data rather than a more even distribution.
In any case, this is very typical of activities involving groups of people, such as contests, courses, workshops, etc.
But that’s just my guess, and I think it says a lot that there are not nearly as many complaints as praise. That bodes very well.
From the comments and online enthusiasm, you could tell if people are unhappy with The Rainmaker Challenge. However, aside from a few complaints, there has not been much activity so far. Some of these comments could be from people confusing this difficulty with another.
Many websites devoted to Rainmaker have praised it highly, too many for me to count.
Does Rainmaker Challenge Offer Money-Back Guarantee?
To answer your question, yes. In fact, they’ve advertised this promise as the “Make It Rain” promise.
After the first day, they promise a full refund if you don’t think you’ve received at least ten times the value of your initial payment ($370 worth of money-making content, ideas, and tutorials).
Can You Make Money With The Rainmaker Challenge?
There are a number of excellent online resources to learn more about Amazon FBA, including The Rainmaker Challenge. But can it really be run as a profitable business?
Let me give you my straightforward view of things.
It is indeed quite a roller coaster ride. Receipt can vary widely; on rare occasions, you may receive so little that you can not find buyers in a single day. Building a successful online presence can take a year or more.
I think it’s advisable to start with programs that do not require much from you, although Amazon FBA is possible with the Rainmaker challenge.
The Rainmaker Challenge Review: Final Verdict
Whether or not the Rainmaker Challenge is successful is a burning question, and the answer depends heavily on you.
The fulfillment by Amazon model is effective. There are a large number of sellers who make a living from it. Unfortunately, it requires a financial and time commitment.
