What is The Rainmaker Challenge?
The Rainmaker Challenge is a hands-on workshop that takes you through the process of setting up an Amazon FBA business in just 7 days. If you’re new to the concept of Amazon FBA, don’t worry – we’ll explain it in more detail below.
In a nutshell, Amazon FBA is a home-based business model that enables you to sell physical products to customers via Amazon. And with The Rainmaker Challenge, you can learn how to do it quickly and easily, thanks to the expert guidance of Stephen and Chelsey Diaz.
While this program is geared towards stay-at-home moms, it’s also suitable for anyone looking for a fun and accessible way to start their own Amazon FBA business. Even as a work-from-home dad myself, I found the Diaz’s presentation style and approachable family-friendly vibe to be highly engaging.
The Rainmaker Family
Stephen and Chelsey are the masterminds who founded the Rainmaker Family.
Before diving into the world of Amazon FBA, Stephen and Chelsey were wedding photographers who realized that running a photography business wasn’t feasible if they wanted to start a family. It was a lot of work, and they couldn’t trade time for money if they wanted to have the freedom to enjoy their family time.
That’s when they decided to explore passive income streams, like a photo booth business, Airbnb hosting, and short-term investing. But what really caught their attention was the potential of e-commerce, which led them to try Amazon FBA.
Chelsey wasn’t convinced that it would work at first, but Stephen was eager to try it out. And after some initial success, they knew they were onto something big. In fact, their Amazon FBA business allowed them to retire from the wedding industry in 2021.
As they grew their own Amazon FBA business, they began teaching others how to do the same. And that’s how the Rainmaker Family was born.
With their unique approach to teaching and their supportive community, they’ve helped countless people achieve their dreams of running successful Amazon FBA businesses.
Is The Rainmaker Challenge Legit?
The Rainmaker Challenge is not a scam. From the very beginning, I had a good feeling about it, and there are several reasons why.
Firstly, the creators of The Rainmaker Challenge, Chelsea and Stephen, are real people who have lent their name and face to their product. The Rainmaker Family is also a California-based limited liability company (LLC), which adds to their credibility.
Additionally, The Rainmaker Family Show, their podcast, has over 80 episodes currently available, and more than 130 reviewers have given it five stars on Apple’s podcasting platform.
Furthermore, there are no usual signs of fraud with The Rainmaker Challenge, and it is reasonably priced. There is an optional add-on course that can be purchased after the Challenge, but this is not a loss leader offer.
The goal of the seven-day challenge is to help you figure out if Amazon FBA is right for you, and increase your chances of success.
However, the program has been receiving a surge of customer complaints on Trustpilot. Participants are expressing their dissatisfaction with various aspects of the program, from support and refunds to hidden costs and a lack of transparency. In this section, we’ll dive into some of the grievances shared by these frustrated customers.
Rainmaker Challenge Complaints
Frustrated Customers Struggle with Support and Refunds
Single mom loses thousands: A customer named Rakel Fermin claims she lost over $4,000 after joining the Rainmaker Challenge. Despite trying to cancel her account for two months, she says they continued to charge her and have not refunded her money. Rakel, a single mom of two, is desperate for her money back.
Order and shipping issues: Another customer experienced problems when they ordered a product from the Rainmaker Challenge. They received no shipping information and, after contacting support, were told their order could not be found. They sent proof of purchase and still received no response.
Mastermind group disappointment: A single mother joined the mastermind group but lost her job soon after. She requested a cancellation and refund, but instead, Rainmaker charged her $500, leaving her with only $300 to her name.
Expensive Programs and Lack of Transparency
Seeking better mentorship: A customer who signed up for the Rainmaker ‘Make It Rain’ Challenge felt disappointed with the program. They advise others to find a mentor who has earned millions doing what they teach and can provide evidence of success.
Unhelpful Facebook group: Another customer had high hopes for the 7-day challenge but found it difficult to get help with questions. The Facebook group they were directed to had little activity, and their own posts never went live.
Hidden costs and false promises: A customer who went through the challenge felt deceived by the multiple “BUT WAIT” add-on costs that eventually totaled $15,000 or more. They also claim that Rainmaker representatives said they don’t do refunds, despite initially promising a 30-day refund policy.
Questioning the program’s value: A concerned potential customer noticed that out of many reviews, only one person claimed to have made real money using the program. They wonder if the program is worth the cost and ask for other customers to share their honest experiences.
How does The Rainmaker Challenge help you make money?
Through The Rainmaker Challenge, you’ll learn all about Amazon FBA and how you can make money with it.

Are students really getting results?
With a sales page filled with student testimonials and impressive sales figures, it’s natural to wonder whether the program lives up to its promises.
However, upon closer inspection, the results appear mixed…
Mixed Results from Student Testimonials
The Rainmaker Challenge boasts student testimonials with impressive sales figures on Amazon. However, upon closer inspection, it seems that some students only made a few hundred dollars during the challenge, and it’s unclear what their costs were, such as inventory and ad expenses.
While it’s not difficult to generate some sales with a large ad budget, it’s also possible to lose money. Therefore, the results are mixed.
It’s worth noting that the testimonials on the sales page are all from 2020, during the early stages of the pandemic, when online retail sales skyrocketed. Therefore, it’s unclear whether their approach is still effective in 2023.
The Rainmaker Challenge also features videos of student reviews on their YouTube channel. However, some of these reviews make unsubstantiated claims. For example, in one video, a woman claims to have made $25,000 on a Monday after joining The Rainmaker Mastermind. Still, she doesn’t provide any proof of this claim.
In conclusion, while some students of The Rainmaker Challenge seem to have achieved impressive results, it’s essential to approach the program with caution and evaluate the results carefully.
How much does The Rainmaker Challenge Cost?

The Rainmaker Challenge Course Breakdown
This program is designed to help you learn about the business concept gradually. Let’s take a quick look at the course schedule!
Day 1 – Where to Start?
On the first day, you’ll learn the basics of Amazon FBA, including how to set achievable goals and understand the value of “instant wins.”
You’ll also discover the importance of defining your “why” and mindset for success. Chelsea and Stephen, your trainers, will share their experiences and insights to help you get started.
Day 2 – How Much Time Is Required?
Building and running a successful online business takes time, but you can speed up the process by learning from experts. On day two, Stephen and Chelsea will share their time-saving strategies and interview other participants and special guests to give you a broader perspective.
Just keep in mind that building a successful online business takes time and effort, so set achievable goals to avoid getting discouraged.
Day 3 – How Much Does an Amazon FBA Business Cost?
On the third day of The Rainmaker Challenge, you’ll focus on building a solid financial foundation for your Amazon FBA business. Chelsea and Stephen will introduce you to the Power Profit Tool and teach you how to take smart risks to boost your earnings.
You’ll also learn about the essential technology and tools you need to run a successful Amazon FBA business, and explore different selling strategies on the platform.
Starting an Amazon FBA business requires an initial investment of between $1,000 and $10,000. However, your costs may decrease as you gain experience and your first listing becomes successful. Inventory management is a significant expense, and understanding why products fail financially is crucial to avoid losses.
The Rainmaker Challenge can help you learn how to optimize your product offerings, set profit targets, and identify the best sources for purchasing inventory.
Day 4 – Time-Saving Tools and Strategies
On the fourth day, Chelsea and Stephen will share their favorite online resources for managing an Amazon FBA business efficiently. You’ll learn how to automate various aspects of your business, freeing up your time and energy to focus on growth.
As an entrepreneur, it’s essential to balance work and personal life, and leveraging technology can help achieve this. You’ll also explore ways to uncover untapped market potential and expand your reach globally.
By the end of day four, you’ll have a toolbox of resources and strategies to streamline your Amazon FBA business and maximize profitability.
Day 5 – Finding Profitable Products That Sell
It’s day five of the FBA challenge and things are about to get interesting! This is when you get to flex your creative muscles and find the best products to sell.
Up until now, the whole eCommerce business might have seemed like a bit of a mystery to you. But with this step, you can finally start calculating real numbers and turning your business into something tangible.
On day five, you’ll learn all about product research and how to choose the right products to sell. Chelsea and Stephen will walk you through their process and share the “four qualifiers” they use to determine whether a product is worth selling.
Day 6 – Sourcing Products and Connecting with Manufacturers
Assuming you have an idea of what you want to market by now, it’s time to look at potential customers and retail deals. However, finding reliable factories to partner with can be challenging for FBA merchants.
You may not be able to meet the manufacturer in person or visit their production facilities before making an international purchase. That’s why it’s beneficial to have reliable suggestions and work with inspection services like QIMA to create an inspection report.
The next step is dependent on the amount of money you’ve invested. You should also consider ordering samples of the products you want to sell.
Day 7 – Accelerating Your Business
On day 7, Stephen and Chelsea discuss the next steps in becoming a Rainmaker and how to take your business to the next level. They’ll also share their best-kept business secret and offer tips on growing your business quickly.

Praise for The Rainmaker Challenge
1. Affordable pricing
One of the best things about The Rainmaker Challenge is its affordable pricing. Unlike some other courses out there, you don’t have to spend thousands of dollars to learn the basics of Amazon FBA. Of course, it’s not as in-depth as some other programs, but if you’re just starting out, it could be a great way to get your feet wet without breaking the bank.
2. Supportive community
Another great thing about The Rainmaker Challenge is the supportive community that comes with it. Chelsea and Stephen, who run the program, not only have a support desk to answer any questions you might have, but they’ve also created a Facebook group where you can connect with other members and get help whenever you need it.
And if that’s not enough, you’ll also get your own “support nurse” – another community member who has already completed the challenge and is available to provide daily advice and assistance via text message. This kind of personal attention can be invaluable when you’re starting out, and it’s definitely something that sets The Rainmaker Challenge apart from other FBA programs out there.
Criticism of The Rainmaker Challenge
1. Exaggerated possibilities and understated difficulties
Although I like the Rainmaker approach, I have to admit that they tend to overstate the possibilities and downplay the difficulties. This is just my opinion, but I think it’s important to be realistic about the challenges you’ll face when starting an FBA business.
2. Deceptive profitability
One thing to keep in mind when considering any FBA or eComm course is that profitability can be deceiving. The Rainmaker Challenge is no exception. You’ll hear stories of six-figure months or $10,000 days, but most of the time, these figures refer to sales volume, not profit. It’s important to understand the difference and not get carried away by inflated numbers.
3. Success stories from a unique time
It’s worth noting that many of the success stories associated with The Rainmaker Challenge come from 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic was in full swing. This meant that retail sales on Amazon were booming due to quarantine. While it’s still possible to make money through FBA, it may not be as easy or profitable as it was during that unique period.
4. Surge of customer complaints
Finally, it’s worth mentioning that The Rainmaker Challenge has been receiving a surge of customer complaints lately. Participants have expressed dissatisfaction with various aspects of the program, including poor support, difficulty getting refunds, hidden costs, and a lack of transparency. While these complaints are not universal, they suggest that some people have had negative experiences with the program.
Should you join The Rainmaker Challenge?
Starting an Amazon FBA business can be a great way to earn money, but you may be wondering if The Rainmaker Challenge is the right resource to help you succeed. Ultimately, the answer to that question depends on your commitment to the business.
It’s true that many Amazon FBA sellers have found success with the Fulfillment by Amazon model. However, it does require a significant investment of both time and money.
The Rainmaker Challenge claims to be an excellent resource that can help you learn from the experiences of other successful Amazon FBA sellers. However, it’s important to note that their success stories are all from 2020. Additionally, there have been recent complaints about their service, so I don’t think I would recommend it at this time.

5 Challenges of Amazon FBA Business Model
1. High Initial Investment
Starting an Amazon FBA business can be costly, with an initial investment of at least $15-20k required to get things going. You’ll also need to invest in testing various products to find what works, which means parting with a significant amount of cash upfront. It’s worth thinking twice before risking your hard-earned money on this venture.
2. Challenges in Running the Business
Running an Amazon FBA business can be challenging, especially for beginners. You’ll need to negotiate with suppliers, compare shipping companies, work with freight forwarders, and comply with Amazon and local government regulations. This can be overwhelming, especially if you’re seeking a low-effort side hustle or passive income source.
3. Slow Cash Flow
Cash flow is crucial for any business, but it can be slow to materialize in the Amazon FBA model. Sellers typically invest a lot in purchasing inventory from suppliers in China. Creating a unique private label product can be even more expensive, with manufacturers charging hundreds of dollars just for a prototype. Production can take 1-2 months, followed by a couple of weeks for shipping and customs clearance. This means you might wait months before receiving payment for your inventory.
4. Price Wars
Price wars are common on Amazon, with sellers often competing on price to attract customers. To avoid losses, you might feel compelled to reduce product costs, resulting in lower quality and negative customer feedback. This can hurt your brand reputation and ultimately affect your bottom line.
5. Dealing with Amazon Policies
Running an Amazon FBA business also means dealing with ever-changing sales tax laws, category restrictions, and Amazon policies. Amazon has the final say on what you can and cannot sell on their platform, and any rule violation could lead to a permanent ban. Losing your account overnight is a real possibility, which is why building your website is a safer bet. This way, you can have more control over your business, make your own rules, and grow on your own terms.
Is there a better way to make money online?
If you’re new to online business, you might wonder if there’s a better business model that doesn’t need initial capital and can do it as a side hustle.
Of all the online business models I’ve tried, affiliate marketing is the easiest and most rewarding so far.
In affiliate marketing, you can run your business at almost zero cost. Most importantly, you don’t need to invest in creating and developing any products.
Also, it is less time-consuming since you don’t have to manage inventory or handle customer service.
You can enjoy a steady stream of passive income while going on vacation or working a full-time job.
Since the world is full of uncertainty, I’d always choose a business model that has the lowest risk.
But How Much Can You Earn in Affiliate Marketing?
A 21-year-old student from my #1 recommended training platform of affiliate marketing was able to earn $7,395 in just 1 week, which means he made more than $1k a day…all while using free traffic methods and affiliate marketing.
