This course walks you through setting up your web page, ranking on Amazon, and finding the best niches for selling on Amazon. 

It’s broken down into different modules, including topics like “Your Foundation Is Everything” and “The Perfect Product Launch.” You’ll even learn about PPC and advertising to boost your sales.

Are JT’s students getting results?

Are you thinking about signing up for JT Franco’s Amazon FBA Empire Academy 2.0? Yeah, he makes some big promises about teaching you how to create a profitable store, but does he really deliver? 

I know, it can be hard to tell with all those success story screenshots floating around. And, have you checked out any third-party review sites like Trustpilot? 

I did and, surprise surprise, there are no reviews about the program. That’s a little strange, don’t you think? If a lot of people are achieving success, you’d think there would be some positive comments floating around.

Now, let me tell you, Amazon FBA is a super competitive business. There are tons of big brands on there and, of course, their success rate isn’t low. 

But, if you’re just starting out, you’re likely to lose money. 

And that’s something JT Franco doesn’t really tell you about. So, before you dive in, let’s take a look at some of the problems with Amazon FBA.

The Problems with Amazon FBA

Below are the reasons why I don’t recommend the Amazon FBA business model.

1. FBA business needs a significant upfront cost

To launch a business on Amazon, you will need $15-20k, at least.

Besides, since you can’t get started without any knowledge, you have to pay for an FBA course such as Amazon FBA Empire Academy 2.0 which is quite expensive for novices.

Moreover, you have to spend money on product samples and inventory, labeling and shipping costs, product launch services/pay-per-click advertising, and Amazon Marketing Services. The first 10k will be quickly exhausted once you start selling on Bezo’s platform.

In one word, it is time-consuming and costs a lot of money. So, you must think carefully if you really want to risk your hard-earned money.

2. FBA Business model is complex

Though Amazon does a lot of the work for you, it still requires a lot of work to get a product listing up and optimized.

Apart from that, you have to deal with numerous dry tasks on a daily basis. For instance, you have to negotiate with suppliers, make comparisons on shipping companies, and freight forwarders and comply with the regulations of Amazon and local governments, etc.

This process is too sophisticated for beginners who might be just looking for a side hustle or a source of passive income that requires little time and investment. 

3. There is no quick cash flow

Cash flow is the lifeblood of a business. However, in the Amazon FBA business model, most sellers have to invest a considerable amount of money to purchase inventories from suppliers in China.

If you want to create a unique private-label product, the costs will be even higher. For example, most manufacturers in China charge you a few hundred dollars just for creating a prototype. If you don’t trust me, you can ask for a price on Alibaba.com.

In most cases, production may take 1-2 months depending on the nature of the products and quantity. Afterward, it takes 2 weeks for shipment and customs clearance before arriving at the Amazon warehouse.

This process indicates that it can take up to months before you’re paid for the inventory you bought.

4. Price war reduces profitability

Price war is ubiquitous on Amazon. Whenever a seller tries to attract more customers by lowering the prices, other sellers will be forced to cut their prices as well. 

To avoid a net loss, you might have to cut the product costs. This results in lower product quality, negative feedback from customers, and hence a drop in sales.

Apart from the intense competition, you have to deal with changing sales tax laws, category restrictions, and Amazon policies.

In the worst case, Amazon might even ban your account permanently if you mistakenly violate some rules.

How much does Amazon FBA Empire Academy 2.0 cost?

Amazon FBA Empire Academy costs $1997 if you pay in full for lifetime access. 

It offers a five-month payment plan at $599 per month. In total, this is $2,995, which is $998 more than the full payment!

Is JT Franco a scam?

JT Franco is not a scam. He’ll teach you all the basics you need to know to start an Amazon FBA business. But, here’s the thing, the content isn’t exactly new or super exciting. And unfortunately, no one, not even JT Franco, can guarantee your success.

JT does offer a pretty sweet deal though – he guarantees that if you follow his course to a T, you’ll start seeing profits within 3 months. And if you don’t make at least $3K in profits, he’ll give you your money back. Plus, he’ll reimburse you up to $5K for inventory expenses during that time.

But here’s the thing, even with all that, I still wouldn’t recommend it to newbies. Amazon FBA is tough and takes a lot of time and effort. There’s a lot to handle like supply, marketing, and all that jazz. 

It’s not as easy as JT claims, so if you’re new to online business, I’d suggest starting elsewhere.

Is Amazon FBA Empire Academy 2.0 worth it?

I don’t think Franco’s course is worth it. There’s no point in forking over $2000 if you don’t know if it will be worth it. There are other Amazon courses out there that are cheaper and just as good, if not better.

Starting out, it’s risky to drop a bunch of cash on a course that hasn’t been proven to work. If the Amazon FBA Empire Academy was the real deal, you’d see tons of positive reviews all over the place, like on Trustpilot or Reddit. But there ain’t much out there, which makes me a bit skeptical about all the promises Franco’s making.

And don’t even get me started on the refund policy. Sure, there’s a 90-day thing, but can you really get your money back no questions asked? Hell no. They’re gonna make you jump through hoops, like completing the course and trying out their strategies.

Bottom line, Franco’s probably making most of his cash from selling courses, not actually doing Amazon FBA.

If you’re new to online business, you might wonder if there’s a better business model that doesn’t need initial capital and can do it as a side hustle.
