After all, it can be a game changer in dropshipping if you can easily and quickly find out a hot product to sell on Facebook.

What is Sell The Trend About?
Sell The Trend is a research tool which allows people to find hot-selling products to dropship. By analysing the sales data from AliExpress, high traffic Shopify stores and trending products on Amazon, it will identify the potentially winning products for you.
Apart from that, you can also use Sell The Trend to import products to your Shopify store, build a targeted audience for your Facebook ads and create Facebook video ads. If you’re not familiar with dropshipping, there is a simple training programme that teaches you the basics.
How does Sell The Trend Work?
Once you login to your member account, you will see the dashboard below.
As mentioned earlier, if you are new to dropshipping, you might spend some time going through the training videos.
The Nexus Explorer area consists of Product and Stores Discover. It shows you the hot products available which can be listed in order by Nexus Rank. Other similar categories include trending products and products on the rising demand.
To give you more insider information, there is a subsection on winning stores. Also, you can check if there are similar products on Amazon. That way, you will know if there’s any competition from the vendors on Amazon and how much they are selling for. This can give you some reference on price setting.
After all, when customers see your Facebook ads, most of them will go and check on Amazon to see if they can find a similar product at a cheaper price.
There are lots of filers you can apply, including:
- Product shipped from within the USA
- Product that has a video
- Countries with the most sales
For even more product data, you can click on the product image and a pop-up box will show up like the one displayed below.
Some of the data include the number of Shopify stores selling the item, number of orders, product cost, selling price and profit margin etc.
You can also check Shopify Store selling the item, AliExpress suppliers, Amazon product page and Facebook search results etc.

Sell The Trend: Video Ad Creator
Sell The Trend provides you a basic video ad creator which allows you to create Facebook video ads from AliExpress images.
It’s easy to use, simply enter the product URL and the images will be imported from AliExpress. After that, you can add some banner text on the top and bottom, together with some background music. The last step is to click on create your video which will be generated in a couple of minutes.
However, it can’t help you create exceptional video ads that look fancy and attractive to the audience on Facebook. If you really use the videos created by Sell The Trend, it’s likely that the conversion rate will be extremely low.
Sell The Trend: Explorers
This feature allows you to get a list of the most trending products from AliExpress, Amazon and some Shopify stores. You can narrow down the search results by applying the filtering options and import the products that have the potential for tremendous growth into your store.
Is Sell The Trend a Scam? Is Dropshipping still a Viable Option in 2020?
With Sell The Trend to show you the hot products, can you really build a 6 figure dropshipping business and travel around the world?
Sell The Trend is not a scam, but as an experienced dropshipper, I can tell you that dropshipping is far more difficult than you think.
Here are a few points why I would not recommend dropshipping:
1. Financial Risk
Your store won’t sell ANYTHING if you don’t ADVERTISE. But the marketing costs from social media marketing such as Facebook ads will eat away your PROFITS. There is also the start-up cost of investing in a reputable dropshipping course.
You might need weeks or even months to just break even, before showing any profit.
In another word, it is a huge FINANCIAL RISK to start dropshipping.
2. Facebook Ads are Pricey and Difficult to Manage
After observing most dropshippers’ results, at best, the total Facebook ads cost will account for at least 30% of your total sales.
But Facebook ads seldom stay effective for a long time. After your targeted audience is exhausted, you will see a much lower conversion rate. Then you will have to increase the marketing budget to keep your ads campaign afloat.
According to Forbes, Facebook saw an increase in ads costs of 90% year-on-year.
Worse still, the learning curve of Facebook ads is quite steep because Facebook changes its algorithm all the time. You have to invest a lot of time and money in learning and testing Facebook ads.
If you run Facebook ads without any experience, your ad account will be easily banned for violating their strict policies.
Many dropshippers fail to cover their Facebook ad cost and result in net loss.
3. Customer Support
Even though you don’t have to manage inventory and logistics, you do have to spend a lot of time communicating with suppliers and dealing with customer service.
If your customer has any issues with the product, you have to wait for your supplier to help you. If your supplier is not helpful, you have to bear the loss yourself. Therefore, many dropshipping stores have poor customer review and have no returning customers. That’s why it’s never easy to build a sustainable dropshipping brand.
In the worst case, you would expect a lot of credit card chargebacks, which risk getting your payment gateway shut down.
4. A lot of work on product research
For your store to keep making money, you always have to look for a new winning product by testing products with Facebook ads.
In dropshipping, most products reach their peak in 1-2 months or even weeks. This is because many competitors will start selling the exact same product once it becomes popular.
Therefore, you need to keep looking for replacements to generate sales.
Most people who succeed in dropshipping are doing it full-time because it requires dedication, consistency, hard work and a lot of patience.
In fact, managing Facebook ads alone can take up your whole day.
