What is Google 3-Pack?

You know when you search for a local business on Google and the first three results that show up? Those are called the Google 3-Pack. It’s like a little map with the top local businesses in your area. And let me tell you, being in that top three is a big deal for any local business trying to reach customers.

If you click on one of the businesses in the 3-Pack, you’ll be taken to a list of 20 businesses. The one you clicked on will be at the top of the list. And from there, you can visit their website, give them a call, or even get directions to their location.

How to get your business listed on the Google 3-pack?

While there is no surefire organic (i.e. unpaid) way to get your business listed on the Google 3-pack, there are some steps you can take.

Here are three tips for boosting your business’s organic Google local search visibility:

1. Manage your Google My Business Profile

So, you want to increase your chances of appearing in the Google 3-pack? One of the best ways to do that is by claiming and optimizing your Google My Business profile.

Google My Business is a powerful tool that lets you add a ton of information that’s helpful for users, and it can also help you get seen in the local pack.

If you haven’t set up your Google My Business listing yet, no worries! Just go to google.com/business, click on “Manage Now,” and follow the prompts. Once you’ve claimed or set up your listing, it’s time to optimize it.

Here are a few quick tips to help you out:

  • Make sure all the information on your listing is accurate, especially your location. This is one of the ways Google decides which businesses to show in the local pack.
  • Add your business categories to your listing. This helps Google figure out what kind of business you are and show you in relevant local searches.
  • Double-check that the information on your Google My Business listing matches the info on your website and other local listings. Google looks at factors like your business name, address, and phone number for consistency, which is a ranking factor.

2. Get 5-Star reviews

So, you probably know that people love searching for businesses “near me” and the “best” ones. And when someone searches for something like “best spa Worcester,” Google will show Maps results for businesses with a star rating of four or above on their Google My Business listing. That means, even if your spa is super close to the searcher, your biz might not make it into the top 3 if you have a 3.9-star rating on your Google My Business listing.

That’s why it’s super important to get reviews on your Google My Business profile. Not only will it increase your chances of showing up in the local pack, but it’ll also give your business a good reputation. Plus, sometimes the content from your reviews will show up on Google along with your Google My Business profile. Check out the example in the local pack – each featured review mentions “best.”

So, once you start getting reviews, make sure you respond to them. This way, your customers will know you care, and prospective customers who read your reviews when you show up in the Google local pack can see that you’re focused on excellent customer service.

3. Optimise your local SEO

So you want to make sure your business pops up in the Google local pack, right? Well, it’s not that different from any other SEO campaign. You gotta make sure your website is up to snuff, and all your local listings are sending the right signals to Google.

First things first, make sure your website is mobile-friendly or has a responsive design. Google indexes the mobile version of your website, so it’s super important that it looks good on a phone. Check your website’s meta tags, especially on your homepage, and make sure your location is included somewhere.

Next, read through your web content and make sure it’s easy to understand for both searchers and search engines. You want visitors to be able to quickly figure out what your business is all about. And remember, consistency is key when it comes to your name, address, and phone number across all your listings.

So, those are some quick local SEO tips to help boost your chances of ranking on Google’s results pages.

Praise for Maps Liftoff

  • Bonuses included
  • SEO skills for optimising Google My Business listing
  • Private coaching sessions with Brian

Criticism of Maps Liftoff

  • Google Maps 3 Pack ranking isn’t as easy as Brian claims
  • Lack of success stories from students
  • Not possible to build a sustainable online business

Is Maps Liftoff a scam?

It’s not a scam but you won’t get rich quick with Maps Liftoff. You’ll learn some valuable skills for ranking your site in the Google Maps 3 Pack, but the real question is if you’ll be able to make back the money you spent on the course. If not, you’ll be in the red, and nobody wants that in their business.

I get that SEO is important for driving traffic to your website, but Brian Willie’s Maps LiftOff course only covers ranking in the Google Maps 3 Pack.

That’s not enough to really succeed. If you’re working as a marketing agent, you need to know more than just that to earn your client’s trust.

You gotta know all about local SEO and organic site listing to help your clients get the best results, and that stuff ain’t covered in Brian’s course.

Bottom line, I wouldn’t recommend Maps LiftOff by Brian Willie. There are better options out there that I’ll cover in the next section.
