Who is JR Rivas?
JR Rivas is an entrepreneur who has come a long way since his early struggles growing up in a single-parent household. Determined to find success and stability for himself and his mother, he ventured into tax business at the age of 18, knowing that college wasn’t the only path to financial freedom.
While his first foray into entrepreneurship didn’t quite take off, JR didn’t give up. Instead, he pivoted to online marketing and found success beyond his wildest dreams. He built three six-figure businesses and has since coached over 500 students across 47 countries on how to replicate his success.
Along the way, JR has created several popular training programs, including Facebook Ads For Real Estate and Personal Brand Profits. As his businesses continued to grow, he found himself becoming busier than ever. That’s when a friend suggested he hire a virtual assistant (VA) to help lighten the load.
JR took his friend’s advice and found an incredibly competent VA who was only charging $3 per hour. This experience inspired him to create the course 47 Day Agency Formula, which teaches others how to find and hire skilled VAs to help scale their businesses.
Despite his success, JR remains humble and always eager to learn more. He continues to push himself and his businesses to new heights, all while sharing his knowledge and experience with others who want to achieve financial freedom and build successful online businesses.

What’s Inside JR Rivas’ 47 Day Agency Formula?
If you’re interested in building a digital marketing agency, JR Rivas’ 47 Day Agency Formula may be just what you need. This program offers a step-by-step guide on how to start and grow your own agency, including finding the best virtual assistants, agency appointment setting, niching down, and coaching calls from JR Rivas himself.
Step 1: How to Find the Best Virtual Assistants
According to JR, the key to finding the top 1% of virtual assistants is to have a rigorous screening process. He recommends a 5-step process that includes screening for English-speaking ability, internet connection, competency, background check, and reliability. Once you’ve found the ideal candidate, you’ll also need to hire a dedicated account manager to support your VAs on a regular basis.
Step 2: Agency Appointment Setting Boot Camp
JR teaches you how to train your VAs to acquire customers and generate revenue for your business. He provides a script that has been developed over time to generate leads for your business. JR suggests using platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Loom videos, emails, cold calls, or SMS to reach out to potential clients.
And while some may doubt if Filipino VAs can really prospect for you due to their strong accent, JR notes that your pay is still a good deal for them, as the average income in the Philippines is a bit more than $7000 a year.
Step 3: Niching Down To Create A Simple System For Automating Fulfillment
JR advises focusing on one niche and testing what offers and targeting would work on Facebook ads. Niching down will make your VAs more productive and give you an image of authority in the field. It also makes the process of scaling your agency easier and possibly automates the prospecting process.
Coaching Calls from JR Rivas
Once you purchase the course, you’ll receive an onboarding call from JR Rivas to discuss the niche, offer strategy, and everything you need to scale your agency.
You’ll also have access to 2 weekly coaching calls where you can talk to JR Rivas about any changes or new ideas. There’s also a group chat in the private Facebook group and a section with video lessons that covers the topics of niche selection, client acquisition, sales, fulfillment, retention, automation, and outsourcing – the most important things to successfully run a digital marketing agency.
JR guarantees that if you don’t see any return on your initial investment in 6 months, you can get a full refund while keeping the training materials at no cost. While you do need to test his model for six months to be eligible for a refund, it’s still not a bad deal.

Is JR Rivas a Scam?
JR Rivas is not a scam but I don’t recommend his course to you. Let me explain why.
JR Rivas promises that you can set up a Facebook ad campaign in just 20 minutes to generate appointments with prospects who are ready to buy. But he doesn’t tell you that the ad cost can be so expensive that it can take up to $35 dollars to acquire just a lead, with a conversion rate of 10%, at best. That means $350 for a deal. And if your virtual assistant is not good at closing, the conversion rate will be even lower.
JR claims that he will provide your VAs with a sales script to get prospects to say “yes”. But everyone knows that high ticket closing is a high-income skill, and you won’t be able to hire a good closer at $3 per hour.
Here are some problems with JR’s business model that he doesn’t tell you:
- Finding good virtual assistants in the Philippines is a lengthy process. If a VA is really good at closing, they would work as a high ticket closer instead of living on $3 per hour.
- The cost of running Facebook ads is skyrocketing, leaving your clients with less money to pay for you since they’re covering the ad spend.
- The learning curve of Facebook ads is steep, making it impossible to automate the process. You have to monitor the ads, the cost, the conversions, and split-testing on your own; otherwise, you will lose a lot of money. And in the worst cases, your ad account might be banned if your VAs inadvertently violated some rules on Facebook.
- Paying your VAs on time rates doesn’t make sense since they won’t have any incentive to prospect for you since there is no commission.
In short, trying to outsource every task to your virtual assistants will only get you into trouble. Instead of training a group of VAs who will only leave you for better-paid jobs once they become more competent, I’d suggest starting with an easier business model that can generate passive income without any VAs.
