Willa Fitzgerald was born in Nashville, Tennessee on January 17, 1991. She was an active participant in theatre while in school. However, as a child, she aspired to be a child psychologist research scientist.
Her passion for theatre grew over time, and she relocated to New York after graduating from Yale University with a BA in Theatre Studies in 2013. She performed in a number of plays as part of her degree at Yale University, including her favorite, ‘Blueberry Toast.’ Her degree prepared her for acting, playwriting, and directing, all of which she excelled at.
She interned with the Builders Association in 2011 and The Wooster Group from 2011 to 2012. Her agents, Ellen Gilbert and Rachel Altman of Paradigm Talent Agency, who managed her schedule and arranged auditions for her, are responsible for much of her success.
Willa Fitzgerald was no stranger to the spotlight when she landed the role of Vivian in the 2008 film ‘For the Love of a Dog.’ Her acting experience dates back to her high school days and her formal training at Yale University.
Following her first feature film, she appeared in two short films in 2012 and 2013, ‘Food For Love’ and ‘Two Cheeseburgers: Part 3’.
Willa always felt that a movie was too short and intense a session to develop a character for her fans to evaluate, so she shifted her focus to the small screen and appeared in a number of serials from 2014 to 2016, including ‘Alpha House,’ ‘The Novice,’ ‘Royal Pains,’ ‘Scream,’ and ‘Bull.’
She has also appeared as a guest artist on ‘Blue Bloods,’ ‘The Following,’ and ‘Gotham.’ Television serials, in her opinion, portray a character more accurately because the actor receives feedback from the audience and has the opportunity to improve their performance with each episode. Willa adored this aspect of television and practically lived each of her roles in real life.
In addition to television, she appeared as Beth in the web series ‘Relationship Status’ in 2016. She enjoyed and found the work interesting and challenging. In March 2017, she was cast as Navy pilot Roxanne Daly in the Fox Television pilot military soap thriller ‘Behind Enemy Lines.’ The series is based on the film of the same name.
Her stage credits include ‘The Cat and The Canary’ at the Berkshire Theatre Festival, ‘Cow Play’ at the New York Fringe Festival, and ‘The Private Sector’ at the Theatre for the New City. She has also read for ‘Couple in the Kitchen’ and ‘Starf”cker’ at the Actors Studio.
She has not only been acting, but she has also directed the theatre production of Virginia Woolf’s ‘Orlando,’ which was adapted by Sarah Ruhl in April 2013. Her directing experience was a learning experience for her. She clearly has talent, as evidenced by positive feedback from critics. She is now considered an upcoming future star.

Willa Fitzgerald Quotes
It’s been a lot of fun getting to work with Tracy Middendorf, who plays my mom. As an actor, it’s always fun to have different parents and to create different familial dynamics than you have in your real life.
It’s amazing how much of a bodily experience being scared is. It doesn’t take very long of hyperventilating to feel like you’re going to pass out. It’s one of those things where being scared is more of a physiological response that you can pretty easily manipulate. So in those types of scenes, it just takes a lot of energy.
I guess my weirdest fear is accidentally ingesting a sharp object.
