But Gretta built the demand for the 5th watches on social media by sending sample watches to influencers. She grew the instagram account to 70,000 followers before officially launching the watches.
Also, the watches are only available for sale on the 5th day of each month for 5 days.
By that way, she created artificial scarcity, which is so brilliant. On the first day of launch, that Ecommerce store managed to do $100,000 in sales.
On 5th of December 2015, the 5th watch did over a million Australian dollars in sales.

Gretta is a pioneer of marketing products on instagram. When she started SkinnyMe Tea, the first thing she thought of is to open an Instagram account. Back in 2012, no businesses were on Instagram yet.
So she was an early adopter of Instagram and is named the “Instagram Queen”.

One girl with 1000 followers on Instagram posted SkinnyMe Tea and as a result, Gretta experienced the most sales in a day.
She then started to reach out to girls with over 1000 followers on Instagram and send the samples to them.
At that time, almost no companies were sending free stuff to influencers on Instagram. And SkinnyMe Tea was the first company doing that.
