Tyler Gregory Okonma was born in Ladera Heights, California on March 6, 1991. His father is Nigerian, and his mother is white Canadian and Afro-American. Tyler has never seen his father because his father abandoned his mother.
In his hometown, he grew up with his sister, Lynda. He began replacing old album covers with his whimsical albums when he was seven years old. They used to be made up of a list of songs, a title track, and the length of the songs.
