Snagajob charges companies for posting job openings on its website. If a company wants to post three open jobs, it costs $249 per month. That’s a much better business strategy than, say, Mommy Jobs Online, which requires both employers and employees to pay to use the service.

Other than that, using Snagajob is pretty standard. Job seekers enter their information (resume, cover letter, etc.) and search for jobs for which they might qualify.

They offer vacancies in a variety of fields, such as;

• Full-time
• Part-time
• Entry-level
• No experience
• Seasonal jobs
• Student jobs
• Veterans jobs

You can work in any field you can imagine, from the service industry (restaurants, accounting, healthcare, retail) to the more traditional fields (research and development, manufacturing, government). 

Of course, there is not always a job in every field. However, your options are limited to a specific field or profession.

Your profile and resume will be visible to potential employers. If you prefer to take matters into your own hands, you can provide your contact information below.

In other words, this is how it should work. It’s a sad fact that some Snagajob providers are only interested in taking advantage of unsuspecting job seekers.

Is SnagaJob A Scam?

SnagAJob is not a scam. It is a reputable organization. However, by creating an Internet profile (which is necessary if you want to be discovered by potential employers), you make yourself vulnerable to spam, scammers, and fraudulent job postings.

I have studied the guidelines and can confirm that they contain the usual general fare of such documents. As for information sharing, there is an ambiguity here:

“We only disclose your Personal Information to other parties with your permission. For example, if you specify that you want us to transmit your information to employers throughout the registration process, we will do so. Furthermore, if you indicate that you would like to receive offers and promotions from our Sponsors, we will submit your Personal Information to them based on your interests and choices. If you choose to share your contact information in this manner, you will be given instructions on how to opt out of sharing your contact information if you change your mind.”

If you want to use Snagajob for its original purpose, you must provide some personal information and give the company permission to share that information with others. You’ve no control over who these third parties are.

There’s also a promise that opt-out procedures will be explained to those who change their minds about sharing their data. I applaud these efforts, but what about the data you’ve already submitted? They haven’t been found yet.

The lesson here’s to be careful and read the fine print during the registration process and be prepared for unsolicited contact.

Snagajob itself is reputable, but some “employers” may try to pull the wool over your eyes.

Complaints Against SnagAJob

They May Sell Your Personal Information

Unsolicited calls and emails from SnagAJob are the main cause of customer dissatisfaction.

SnagAJob asks for a lot of personal information from job seekers just to contact them about job openings.

To determine if you meet the requirements for the job, you have to fill out various questionnaires and short surveys.

Third-party companies may also offer training and professional development opportunities in their surveys.

Your identity and phone number may be shared with several telemarketing companies if you aren’t careful with your responses.

After you sign up and apply for a job at SnagAJob.com, many people complain about receiving numerous unsolicited emails and phone calls.

Unwanted Sales Pitches

Mixed in among the other types of calls are sales calls.

Many users report receiving telemarketing calls from schools such as University of Phoenix and online art schools trying to sell them enrollment.

While it is possible that these individuals clicked the “Yes, I am interested in continuing my education and would like to learn about opportunities” option when they enrolled, it is still important to know that this is not a guarantee.

Outdated Job Postings/Non-Existent Jobs

The fact that many of these job postings may not even exist is the main reason.

I found that about half of the times I looked on the company’s website under the “Careers” section to see if the posted position actually existed.

Even a company that ceased operations a month ago still had open positions posted. While I do not expect SnagAJob to monitor every single job posting, it would be nice if ads were removed after a certain amount of time.

Additional search filters make it easier to find a job. This allows you to filter the available comments to those that match your specific criteria.

Snagajob offers three different plans for businesses, with prices ranging from $89 per month to $249.

• Starter: For $89. this package includes one job posting per month. It is also distributed via email to potential applicants.
• Starter Plus: You get all the benefits of the Starter package plus a bonus. It includes personality assessment tools to help you learn more about your applicants.
• Premium Package: With this package, three job ads are active for one month. You also get an email campaign, a personality test, and applicant monitoring tools that help you keep track of applications.

The best part is that creating profiles and searching for work is completely free.

According to the Snagajob price guide, there really is something for everyone. Regardless of your financial situation, there is an offer that will suit your needs.

Subscriptions require monthly payments. You can use PayPal or a credit card to make a purchase. You do not have to remember to make a payment every month, as it will be processed automatically.

Snagajob Refund Policy

Snagajob is a subscription service that does not provide refunds. If you cancel the service before the end of the month, you will still have to pay for the entire month, even if you do not use it.

Snagajob’s online help states that a user must cancel their subscription to stop being billed. After the paid period is over, your account will be deleted.

• I really enjoyed reading the employee testimonials. There are so many bad jobs and employers who take advantage of their employees. It is good to hear from a company that cares about their employees.
• Snagajob has responded to and worked to resolve the complaints on the Better Business Bureau website.
• I think it’s admirable that they are trying, at least in theory, to promote a good match between employee and company.

Cons of Snagajob

• Clearly, more effort should be made to vet one’s third-party customers. I don’t know about this, so I may be speaking out of turn here, but they definitely need to do something to reduce telemarketers and spam.

You probably know that the purpose of these two websites is to advertise and find a job. Now let’s compare how they’re similar and how they’re different.

First of all, they’re aimed at a variety of industries and job functions. Snagajob exclusively targets hourly workers, while Indeed offers more monthly job postings. 

The pricing structure is also different. You can save money on your monthly Snagajob subscription by searching for and using a promo code. 

Sponsored ads on Indeed require a daily budget to cover the clicks you receive. If you receive a lot of clicks in a day, you may have to pay more than your allotted amount.

Both websites have a large number of job listings and are easy to use.

There’s no reason not to give SnagaJob a chance if you’ve exhausted your options on other job boards (assuming you set up an alternate email and temporary phone just in case).
