Is Remotasks a Scam or Legit?

Although it is understandable that some consider Remotasks to be a scam, rest assured that this is not the case. Most people are hesitant to try their luck when it comes to making money online. And that’s a good thing. The vast majority of these “make money” resources are fraudulent.

Some, however, are fortunately reputable.

Remotasks had an overall rating of 4.4 out of 5 stars before Facebook revamped its ratings and recommendations section (based on 138 reviews at the time).

Nearly 82,000 people follow them now (and perhaps more by the time you read this).

Reviews and fan bases can be fake and therefore should not be used as a criterion for authenticity. In the case of Remotasks, however, they are actual activities. At least for the most part. 

Of course, we can not review everyone if we have to search more than 80,000 accounts.

Many other user reviews I have read indicate that Remotasks pays its users regularly and on time.

Furthermore, Remotasks does not pretend to be something it is not. They also do not guarantee you a fortune, nor do they claim that they can make you rich with it. That’s not to say they are flawless, but they are real.

If I had to pick out a couple of red flags, it would be that the founders and owners of the company remain a secret and that the address given in the trademark registration has not been confirmed by other sources.

Webflow, Inc. and Proactive Media seem to be the only companies occupying this space at the moment.

It is likely that Remotasks either has a sublease here or is using the building’s mail service. Whatever the case may be, that does not make them scammers. Most likely, they are performing their duties in the comfort of their own home. Smart Ecosystems, Inc. (Remotasks) may be too small to need a large office.

And while there are some concerns about the pay rate, there are rarely complaints about actual pay, as evidenced by the large number of members who are actually paid by Remotasks (along with proof of payment). Although there are warning signs, Remotasks is not fraudulent.

How Does Remotasks Work?

Creating an account at Remotasks is a standard requirement for earning money through the platform.

1. Signing Up

You can log into the Remotasks platform using your Facebook credentials, but that’s not what I recommend. Instead, use an email address and a strong password. Since Facebook already knows so much about you, it’s best not to share your data with outside services like Remotasks.

2. Getting Certified in Categories

You’ll have to pass a series of tests before you can gain access to the various areas of the system and start processing orders. 

Nevertheless, you shouldn’t find them too difficult. They provide instruction in all sorts of sub-areas, and you can retake an exam up to three times if you did poorly the first time.

3. Performing Tasks in Unlocked Categories

You can start working as soon as you have access to the required task categories. To give you an idea of the variety of tasks available on Remotasks, we list some examples below:

• Image Labeling – One of the easier projects in Remotasks, this consists of simply sketching outlines around things to determine their exact location in a given photo.
• Categorization – This task requires you to describe an image or object using keywords. Coat, blue, cotton is a possible description for a coat.

I must also remind you that you are not an employee of Remotasks. Instead, you are an independent contractor, which means you can set your own hours and decide how often you want the work done.

However, a minimum of 20 working hours per week is recommended for LiDAR activities.

I agree that the hourly wage of $1 to $3 for typical work is not very high. Your regular earned income must still be maintained.

Pay is based on the level of challenge and quality of your work. The salary for LiDAR jobs is higher than for standard jobs.

There is no cost to use Remotasks. Membership and order execution are free, but there is a 2% transaction fee for PayPal withdrawals.

How Does Remotasks Pay?

This review of Remotasks was written when the only payment method available was PayPal. This is the payment method I usually choose.

Also, unlike competing platforms, there are no minimum withdrawal requirements. You can receive your money whenever you need it, or we can send you a check on Fridays. However, there is a 2% transaction fee, which is common with such home-based platforms and their partners.

Where is Remotasks Available?

The availability of Remotasks on the Internet seems to be somewhat inconsistent. Although Remotasks advertises that it is available in 90 countries, I could not find a comprehensive list of those countries.

It seems that this list is growing as more countries apply for Remotasks, and there is a lot of talk about it on the Internet. If you have any doubts, please check with Remotasks.

Unfortunately, the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, and the United Kingdom are conspicuously absent.

If Remotasks is not available in your country, you can make money with other task-based websites like Survey Junkie and Inbox Dollars. You will not get rich as fast with these as you would with Remotasks, but they are a good way to test the waters if you have never tried making money online before.

The more time you spend online, the more likely you are to start an internet business at some point.

Remotasks doesn’t seem to ask for much personal information, but it does require things like your phone number. I wouldn’t recommend you visit the site if the thought of doing so makes you uncomfortable.

Remotasks recommends that users exercise caution when using the website, as they’re potential scammers. If someone (or something) asks for too much personal information from you or asks you to perform an action that seems unusual, you should back off.

Complete anonymity and security on the Internet are impossible to achieve, so you should take appropriate precautions.

I have emailed Remotask’s support team ([email protected]) a few times already to inquire about their policies. They were exactly what I needed and got straight to the point.

In the past I have received a response from them within a few hours, which is fantastic.

Join their Discord server if you have urgent questions (you can find it in your account settings). It’s easy to get in touch with the moderators, and they are practically always online, so all your concerns will be dealt with quickly.

• According to an evaluation, the work was classified as “defective” As a result, it was not compensated. Remember that your work will be reviewed before it is accepted. If it is not accepted, no payment will be made.
