Is Product Testing USA a Scam? (My Honest Review 2023)

Are you someone who likes to test out new products and share your thoughts about them? Well, then you might have heard of Product Testing USA – a website where product testers can voice their opinions on various offers. In this review, I’m going to spill the beans on everything you need to know about this platform.

Let’s be real, reviews can make or break a product’s success, and that’s why companies spend a lot of money promoting their products on popular online marketplaces like Amazon and eBay. That’s where product testers and reviewers come in – they play a vital role in a visitor’s decision-making process when it comes to purchasing a product.

So, how does Product Testing USA work? Is it worth your time? As an internet entrepreneur who has reviewed lots of survey sites, I’m in a good position to share my honest opinion about this website. I’ll be giving you the inside scoop on this seemingly promising platform and answering the question on everyone’s mind – is Product Testing USA a scam or a legit site?

But wait, there’s more! At the end of this review, I’ll also share with you a better alternative that has helped me make a full-time passive income online.

So, sit tight and get ready to learn everything you need to know in this Product Testing USA review. I’ll be covering the important factors you need to consider before signing up.

What is Product Testing USA?

Product Testing USA is an online platform where you can sign up to test products. Once you’ve tested the products, you can keep them.

The platform claims to offer free products and promotional rewards like cash vouchers and gift cards. That’s great! But, the catch is that you can only review one product per day, and the website selects only one reviewer per product. It’s a bit strange to me, but I guess they want reviewers who have some knowledge about the product.

However, the platform seems to encourage more and more visitors to sign up, only to reveal their strict review policy later on. This means that you might not get the chance to test every product you want to review.

If you’re okay with testing only one product a day and leaving the selection process up to chance, then Product Testing USA might be worth trying out. But, if you’re looking to test multiple products and have more control over the process, this might not be the platform for you.

Red Flags For Product Testing USA

1. Competing with thousands of others

One of the downsides of Product Testing USA is that there is a lot of competition for each product review. For each offer, only one reviewer is chosen. This means that you will be competing with thousands of other members for a chance to review a product.

In some cases, members have applied for a year or more without being selected for a review. This can be frustrating, especially if you were hoping to make a significant amount of money from product testing.

2. Inundated with spam

Another con of Product Testing USA is that members have complained about receiving a lot of spam since joining the site. While the company claims that you can opt-out of receiving third-party emails, some members have reported that they still receive spam even after opting out and contacting the company. This could be a significant concern, especially if you use your primary email address when signing up.

According to their privacy policies, Product Testing USA may use your email address to notify you about certain offers, including third-party offers, and provide general updates if you have opted-in. However, it’s unclear how much control you have over the emails you receive. Some members have reported feeling like they were being sold to, rather than offered free products or income. It’s also unclear who is behind the site and how they make money from it.

Green Lights for Product Testing USA

1. Free to join

One of the best things about this survey site is that it’s totally free to join. You don’t need to pay anything upfront or give any credit card details. Just sign up and you’re good to go.

Once you’re a member, you’ll get to test and review all sorts of different products. It could be anything from beauty products to gadgets to kitchen appliances. The best part is that you get to keep the products you review. So not only do you get to try new things for free, but you also get to keep them afterwards.

2. Score valuable rewards

In addition to getting free products to try out, Product Testing USA also offers some pretty sweet rewards. According to the website, members can receive cash vouchers and gift cards as part of various promotions.

Now, it’s worth noting that these rewards aren’t guaranteed. You’re not going to get a gift card every time you review a product. But if you’re an active member who takes part in surveys and shares your opinions regularly, then you might be eligible for these bonuses. And who doesn’t love a good gift card or some extra cash?

Is Product Testing USA a Scam?

Product Testing USA is not a scam, but there are a few things you should know before signing up.

First of all, it’s free to join as a reviewer, but there’s no guarantee that you’ll actually get chosen to review products. This is because there are lots of people competing for the same opportunity.

The website might show pictures of fancy gadgets like iPhones and Nintendos, but that doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll get to keep them. Some people suspect that the site just wants you to subscribe to their email list so they can send you promotions and discounts.

If you don’t mind getting some spam in your inbox, you can always use a separate email address for this purpose. However, some people are wary of giving out their phone number, so keep that in mind.

Overall, if you enjoy testing products and don’t mind the possibility of never getting chosen, there’s no harm in signing up. But don’t expect to make any real money from it.

If you’re really interested in making money from surveys, you might want to check out Swagbucks or SurveyJunkie instead. They offer better opportunities and more reliable payouts.

However, if you’re looking for a more lucrative business model that can earn you a full-time passive income, I’ve got some good news for you. There are alternative business models out there that can provide higher earning potential.

If you’re interested in learning more, I’d be happy to tell you all about it in the next section. So, keep reading!

How does Product Testing USA work?

According to Product Testing USA, it only takes a few steps to become a product reviewer on their platform. Well, I’ve tried it out for you and it’s not quite what it seems. Here’s a rundown of the process:

Step 1: Sign Up

First things first, you’ll need to sign up for an account. When you select a product to review, you’ll be asked to hit the Sign Up icon which takes you to the next page. The sign-up process is pretty simple, but make sure to uncheck the box that says you’re okay with receiving emails and promotions if you don’t want to be bombarded with messages.

Step 2: Questionnaire

After signing up, you’ll be directed to a questionnaire. This is where things start to get a bit sketchy. The questionnaire is actually designed to promote other products and get you to sign up for even more stuff. So beware, it’s not really about testing products at this point.

Step 3: Receive the Product (or not)

Okay, so technically this is the third step, but in reality, you might never get to this point. Based on what others have told me, the whole thing is just a ploy to get you to sign up for things and they never actually send you any products to test. So while you may think you’ll get to test out some cool products, it’s more likely that you’ll just be disappointed.

How do you get paid?

Rather than cash, the site offers product testing opportunities and gift cards as rewards. As a tester, you get to keep the products you test, some of which are worth quite a lot, making for some pretty nice rewards.

Of course, if you’re looking to earn cash by completing small online tasks, you may want to consider checking out some of the best survey sites that pay out through PayPal instead.

That said, if you’re interested in free products, Product Testing USA can be a great option. However, it’s important to have the right expectations.

To be able to keep a product you’ve tested, you need to write a review of at least 500 words, make a video review that’s at least one minute long, and send photos.

Your feedback will be used and posted on Product Testing USA’s website and social media channels. If you’re not comfortable with this, you should not participate, as submitting reviews and photos is a requirement of the program and will be used for promotional purposes to show other people what’s possible to get by participating.

How often can you test a product?

It’s important to note that when you sign up for Product Testing USA, you are registering for a chance to test a product. There’s no guarantee that you will actually get to test the products you sign up for.

However, this doesn’t mean that the site doesn’t work. Every day, product testers are selected, so it’s clear that the site is legitimate. The catch is that it might not happen to you. It could happen after just a few attempts, or it might not happen even if you register for all available products for a year or more.

It’s similar to participating in a lottery – you have a chance to win, but there are no guarantees. It’s essential to keep this in mind so that you don’t get disappointed if you don’t get chosen.

It’s also worth noting that there are thousands of testers, and companies don’t give away thousands of free products. This means that you could sign up and never be chosen. On the Product Testing USA Facebook page, you can see that there are many members who have been registered for a long time and haven’t been selected yet.

Who can join Product Testing USA?

If you’re living in the US and you’re at least 18 years old, you’re eligible to join Product Testing USA. Keep in mind though, that while it’s a great opportunity to potentially test out new products, it may not provide as many earning options as some of the other free methods available in the US.

Additionally, there’s no guarantee of earning anything at all, so it’s important to weigh the pros and cons before deciding to join.

Can you get support?

When you join an online platform to earn rewards, it’s crucial to have access to support if you encounter any issues. If you’re a member of Product Testing USA, you can contact their support team, but the option is not very obvious.

To find the contact form, scroll down to the bottom of the website and click on the FAQ section. Some of the questions here mention a contact form, and you can click on the word “contact form” to reach out to them. However, the option is not available for all questions, so you may need to search around a bit.

One way to find the contact form is by checking the “My Account Support” section and looking for the question “I am not receiving email newsletters from Product Testing,” as shown in the image above.

Alternatively, you can contact Product Testing USA through their Facebook page. Just send them a message, and they should be able to help you out.

My Personal Experience With Product Testing USA

Signing up with Product Testing USA is free, but there was some fine print that I found interesting, to say the least.

I was really keen on testing the latest FitBit and signed up using my Facebook account. I filled in the required information and noticed that my phone number was already filled in. That was a red flag for me, so I paused before submitting my request.

Then, I saw a box to check just before submitting the form. The fine print next to it said that I would be agreeing to receive telemarketing calls from partners and sponsors, even if I was on the DNC (Do Not Call) list.

I was taken aback. What did that mean? It meant that my phone would be ringing non-stop if I signed up to test products. And this was the case for every product I wanted to test.

They don’t allow you to submit your application if you don’t agree to the terms, which is a bummer.

If you’re wondering what it means for you, it means that your phone will probably start ringing with spam calls at all hours. On top of that, they share your information with third-party companies, which means you’ll be getting even more spam in your inbox.

To be honest, I wouldn’t mind the calls if I thought I had a shot at testing the product, but the chances of that happening are quite slim, as evident from the comments on their Facebook page.

On the bright side, you get to keep any products you review, which could be valuable. However, you can’t make cash on the site.

All in all, it’s up to you to decide whether or not it’s worth it to sign up with Product Testing USA.

Alternative Survey Sites

Survey Junkie: A Solid Option

Survey Junkie is a great choice for those who want a trustworthy site that’s been around for a while. You can earn up to $18 per hour by focusing on the best paying surveys, and the site’s user interface is easy to use. Plus, the minimum payout amount is just ten dollars, and you can choose to receive your rewards as physical gift cards or PayPal cash.

Check out our full review of Survey Junkie here.

Pinecone Research: A Personal Favorite

Pinecone Research is one of my personal favorites. The surveys pay $3 each and take about 10-15 minutes to complete. While the surveys may only be available once or twice a month, you always know exactly how much you’ll make and how long the survey will take. Pinecone Research is picky about the quality of surveys they offer, so you can trust that you’ll only be offered the best ones.

PointClub: Fun and Pays Well

PointClub is a survey site that’s both fun and pays well. You’ll earn an initial hourly pay between $7 and $15, and you’ll even get a $5 bonus just for signing up. Plus, for every 5 consecutive days you log in, you’ll receive a bonus on your total earnings, up to a 100% bonus after 30 consecutive days. You can redeem your points for PayPal cash or physical gift cards. Just keep in mind that to earn close to the full $15 per hour, you’ll need to take advantage of these bonuses.

Swagbucks: More Than Just Surveys

Swagbucks is a site that offers more than just surveys. You can also earn money by watching videos, shopping online, clipping coupons, and more. While they may not pay as much for taking surveys as some other sites, you can easily earn a near-passive income. You can redeem your Swagbucks for things like physical goods and PayPal cash.
