Are you looking for a Pampered Chef review? Is Pampered Chef MLM a scam?

If you want to make money online, you may have heard of Pampered Chef MLM. There is a good chance that you heard about Pampered Chef MLM through someone – a friend or family member.

But since there are so many scams online, you may wonder if you can trust it or not.

I have a passion to help people explore the best money-making opportunities online, so over the years, I have reviewed hundreds of similar online programs like Pampered Chef MLM.

In the past week, I have done thorough research about the Pampered Chef MLM, so I can tell you everything you need to know about it.

As a disclaimer, I’m not affiliated with Pampered Chef MLM, which means I’m not paid to write this review for Pampered Chef MLM. So you can be sure that my words are unbiased.

In this Pampered Chef MLM review, I’m going to cover the following in this review:

What Is Pampered Chef?

The Pampered Chef company was founded by Doris Christopher as an MLM company. Since the 1990s, it has been taking the market by storm.

Doris Christopher has a background in economics and money, so it’s not all that surprising that it’s been financially successful as well.

Pampered Chef Parties are network marketing events where friends and families get together to sell kitchen products directly.

There are some neat products, some mediocre products, and some products that you can find for cheap at Wal-Mart on clearance racks.

Who Founded Pampered Chef?

In 1980, Doris Christopher founded Pampered Chef, a multilevel marketing company that sells kitchen accessories. It is one of the most recognized MLM companies in the household tools niche.

Doris was an economics teacher with a keen interest in cooking and all things related to the kitchen.

She came up with the idea of providing everyday people with essential kitchen products like tools, cookbooks, and food items.

Therefore, she created a multilevel marketing company called Pampered Chef, which has been a huge success when it comes to mlms related to kitchen tools.

Pampered Chef is a global multi-level marketing company with operations in several countries, including the United States, UK,Germany,Mexico And Canada.

Its main headquarters are located in Addison[Illinois].

With over 40 years in the business, one can say that this company is not some new mlm company that looks to make some quick bucks. Rather, it is a well reputed company that is getting more and more popular on search engines every day.

Why did it become so famous?

A main marketing strategy they teach their affiliates or distributors is to hold a house party and then pitch your products to your potential customers.

During the 1990s, this marketing technique became extremely popular.

New sales pitches were very well received at the house parties.

Currently, every house in the USA, especially those in NYC, LA, and Chicago, receives almost hundreds of sales pitches per month.

This marketing method has already irritated them to the point that they are already aware of what you are doing when you invite them to your house party.

How Does Pampered Chef Work?

Pampered Chef makes most of its money by having its consultants sell their products directly to their friends and families. Pampered Chef also makes some money from appearing on TV shows.

They demonstrated the usefulness of the Pampered Chef products during Pampered Chef parties or TV appearances.

When there are experts on TV cooking and demonstrating how a product works, it is cool to see how it works.

Chef consultants make money. Here is where MLM comes in. Consultants can recruit new consultants to work under them and earn even more based on the sales they make.

What are the Pampered Chef Products?

Pampered Chef is known for offering a wide range of products.

We’re talking Pampered Chef cookbooks, Pampered Chef kitchen products, tools, and more.

Multi-use utensils are among the types of products Pampered Chef offers. These products appeal to someone who wants an all-in-one kitchen tool.

They offer a full one-year warranty on all their products as well.

Pampered Chef’s most popular products include the following:

  • Stoneware Bakeware
  • Teak Wooden Spoon
  • Cut-N-Seal Maker Tart
  • Pizza and Crust Cutter
  • Mini Tart Shaper
  • beer bread mix
  • gardening tools
  • kitchen tools
  • food products

Pampered Chef’s catalogs and menus provide as much information as you need to make an informed purchase.

However, some of the prices of these kitchen products are quite unreasonable in our opinion.

How Much To Join Pampered Chef?

The consultant kit is required if you want to become a consultant and start making money.

Depending on your level of knowledge and enthusiasm for selling kitchen tools, you can choose among three main kits.

The following are some of the different Pampered Chef consultant kits:

Starter kit

The kit costs $99 and contains over $400 in products. Starting with a starter kit is a great way to get a feel for the product line.

Deluxe kit

The kit costs $159 and includes $700 worth of products. With the deluxe kit, you can sell more products, and therefore make more money, than with the starter kit.

Ultimate kit

There are $1000 worth of products in this kit, which costs $259. If you are committed to going at a business opportunity with 100% effort all the time, the ultimate kit will help you.

The main aim of this company and you is to make people realize how beautiful it is to have Pampered Chef products in their kitchens.

By giving you access to products, these kits should help you make more money.

What is the Pampered Chef Compensation Plan?

Pampered Chef’s compensation plan appears very complex.

One thing you should note here is the commissions you will receive when you reach a certain monthly sales volume.

Here are the details of it:

  • $1 to $749 in monthly sales will make you 20% commissions.
  • $750 to $1249 in monthly sales will help you make 22% commissions.
  • $1250 to $2500 in monthly sales and get 23% commissions
  • $2500 to $4000 in monthly sales will get you to 24% commissions.
  • $4000+ will get you to 25%.

Consultants make an average of $20, which is very low compared to the industry average.

Below are a few of the bonuses companies offer.

  • Earn 3% commission on every sale by recruiting people under you.
  • Kits with special discounts
  • Points and free products
  • The commissions can increase to 3% if you hit $15000 in sales.

The following video explains their compensation plan in detail:

Is The Pampered Chef MLM a Pyramid Scheme

The Pampered Chef is not a pyramid scheme by definition. Members buy and sell real products.

Pampered Chef is a legitimate business opportunity, and you can make money legally without getting caught up in a pyramid scheme.

Companies that fall under the multilevel marketing classification have to follow strict guidelines that demonstrate their business is not a pyramid scheme now more than ever.

When a business is found to be a pyramid scheme, it faces legal problems that no one should have to deal with.

Although your friend may believe that the Pampered Chef MLM is a pyramid scheme, your friend would be wrong since everyone at every level of the company can make money, as opposed to a true pyramid scheme where only those at the top make money while the rest lose money.

Why is it not a pyramid scheme?

They sell physical products, so the reason is simple and straightforward.

If they want to make money from Pampered Chef, they should not just be forced to recruit in the company.

To put it simply, there are two ways to make money from MLMs.

The first one involves recruiting downline members and getting commissions from them, and the other involves selling the company’s products.

Pampered Chef is a business that sells physical products to people. Recruiting is just an option. Hope that makes sense.

Is Pampered Chef A Scam?

I cannot say Pampered Chef MLM is a scam. However, I don’t recommend Pampered Chef MLM if your goal is to make a lot of money.

Most people who join Pampered Chef Company do so primarily in order to receive cookware and a range of other products at a lower price than a regular customer would.

If you discuss this with another “Pampered Chef Distributor”, you’ll both realize that you’ve probably not made much money. Most likely due to a lack of sales skills on both of your parts.

The Pampered Chef compensation plan might seem enticing, but you’ll only be able to maximize it if you have an effective sales process.

Like any other mlm company or network marketing company, most people will only be able to sell to family and friends. You might only break even if you get enough sales.

Even though the business model and company might appear to be a scam, it’s just a case of people not fully understanding how it works and how to make it popular.

There are some high-earning consultants in the company and they will tell you that it is not a scam and that you can make money if you have a good sales process and can communicate effectively.

The company’s commission rate is in line with most other network marketing programs, which contributes to the legitimacy of the company.

However, you will realize the amount of effort coupled with the monetary return is never going to be worth it because of the MLM nature.

Pampered Chef MLM Pros

1. Pampered Chef Product Discounts

This MLM company gives special discounts to those who join it, which is a good thing.

Whether you love your kitchenware or not, you can get discounts of 20% to 50% on all products.

2. Some People are Making Money From Pampered Chef

Pampered chef does offer the possibility of making money. There are some people who make money from the company.

3. Pampered Chef is Willing to Withdraw Unsafe Products

Pampered Chef will investigate any faulty product immediately, withdraw it and recall it to anyone who has purchased it.

They recalled two products on their website because they were faulty in some way. the Garlic Slicer and the Ice Cream Dipper.

4. Pampered Chef Has a 30-day Product Guarantee

The 30-day guarantee is another great selling point for your customers. Not all product guarantees are the same.

Only defects are covered under the Lifetime Guarantee.

5. No Inventory

You don’t need to store anything other than your starter kit. You will receive everything directly from the manufacturer.

6. Pampered Chef Has a Long History

The Pampered Chef company has been around since 1980. Not many MLM companies survive that long. In fact, most of them only last for two to three years before they fail.

Pampered Chef, however, is not one of them.

It just goes to show that the company is here to stay. The company is also one of the first multi-level marketing companies in the kitchen utensils industry, which led to the establishment of many more companies.

Pampered Chef MLM Cons and Complaints

1. Product Quality Is Poor And Expensive

The quality of Pampered Chef products has been criticized online a lot.

Several review sites, including BBB and consumer affairs, have published hundreds of negative reviews about it.

When you compare the products to their counterparts, you will find that they are quite expensive. It may be difficult to sell expensive products.

It appears to be one of MLM mlm companies that asks for too much from their consultants instead of just giving more.

2. It Can Be Exhausting To Host A Party

It is true that sometimes hosting parties can be a lot of fun.

It looks so much fun the first and second time, but people eventually get tired and bored of them.

Doing parties is a real pain in the ass. It’s also an outdated concept for building a business.

You will also have to spend money putting on these parties. Food, travel time, gas and other incidentals need to be considered for your demonstrations.

Before your first show, you’re already spending money. Then you can start earning a profit once you have recouped your investment in the show.

For this house party, you will need to spend $300 over and above everything else.

In most cases, people find it hard to recoup their investment in these house parties.

By bringing in your friends and family, you may be able to host a few parties and earn some money. The problem is that once that audience dries up, you’ll need to find a wider audience, and finding that audience won’t be easy.

Imagine you’re a superstar who sells all the contents of your starter kit at a party. The retail value is $400. The commission is 20%, which means you’ve earned $80.00.

Let’s say you got a $25 discount on your starter kit for hosting, which means you paid only $74 for it. Now you’ve earned $105 in commissions.

But don’t forget the cost of food and other things you put into hosting this party. This is probably around $50.00. With all your time, effort, and energy, you’ve now earned $55.00.

Personally, I don’t think it’s worth all that effort for the sake of maybe $55.00 for one party.

3. Difficult To Earn a Full Time Income

By joining Pampered Chef, it is very difficult to make a living or even gain financial freedom.

You must know that when you join Pampered Chef, you won’t be able to earn a full-time income from it.

Bad reviews can have a negative impact on your sales. As time passes, more and more people are becoming wise when purchasing new items. If they learn the products are poor quality, no matter how good the deal might be, they might skip it regardless of how good the deal is.

It would also be challenging to make money out of it since it is expensive and there are so many brands offering the same equipment at lower prices.

Further, the compensation for selling the products and inviting new customers is low.

Moreover, I found that Pampered Chef did not disclose any earnings.

There are two possible reasons for this.

The first is that they do not want to disclose how low their consultants’ earnings are, and the second is that people are not making enough money from them.

Their earning potential document states that it will take between 8 and 15 hours to build an income stream of at least $1500 and as high as $15,000.

The only thing you need to do during these hours is,

  • Sell products
  • Build a team
  • Train A Team

4. Pampered Chef Receives a Lot of Customer Complaints

According to the website of the BBB (Better Business Bureau), there are plenty of unhappy customers.

Poor customer service, faulty or defective products, and insufficient refunds are the most common complaints. Positively, Pampered Chef has addressed these complaints.

5. Pampered Chef Representatives Making False Income Claims

There have been a number of false income claims made by Pampered Chef representatives and consultants according to the Truth In Advertising website.

6. You Need to Meet Monthly Targets

Many people are unaware that Pampered Chef has a sales quota of 150 PV. To earn and stay active, you should sell $150 worth of products every month. PV stands for personal volume.

You won’t be able to get any money if you don’t. However, there is a way to do this, and that is by purchasing the products yourself. That just defeats the purpose of why you want to make money.

7. Pampered Chef  is Becoming Less Popular

Pampered Chef is not a very popular search term according to Google Trends. Knowing that no one is interested in their products makes it difficult to sell them.

8. Success Rate is Very Low In Pampered Chef

I do not like jumping into a pool that’s already crowded with people.

It is true that Pampered Chef is becoming more saturated day by day, which means there is more competition for you.

According to most studies, people who join MLMs in order to make money end up losing the money they invest. The failure ratio is very high in MLMs, up to 99%.

There is nothing unique about Pampered Chef.

First of all, it is a very expensive company to join. Other than that, the failure rate is very high.

These factors make Pampered Chef one of the most hated mlms in the household niche.

Let’s forget about distributors and discuss how much a pampered chef consultant makes.

Just 20% commissions.

I strongly discourage people from joining multilevel marketing after reviewing 300+ multilevel marketing companies.

The only people who make money from MLMs are their owners.

9. Pampered Chef Products are Too Expensive to Sell

Compared to other retailers that sell similar products, Pampered Chef’s products are the most affordable. Nonetheless, Pampered Chef’s products are not inexpensive.

When it comes to kitchen gear, there is so much competition out there. Those competitors have products that are just as good and are cheaper.

I personally think you will have a hard time selling their products.

There may be places like Amazon where you can find products at a lower price that are of equal quality.

10. You Have To Recruit People

It’s difficult for anyone to make a decent living just selling the products. Then you have to put together a team, which means recruiting people.

You will have to convince people every single day that you have a great business opportunity.

In addition to trying to sell products, you will need to recruit people into your business at these house parties. This won’t be easy.

The MLM business model has been proven to be one of the worst business models ever because it has been proven time and time again.

Statistics show that 99% of people who get involved in multilevel marketing lose money and fail.

In other words, your chances of making money and recouping your money are 1%.

11. Pampered Chef Does Not Have an Income Disclosure Statement

My search for income disclosure statements for consultants with Pampered Chef did not produce results. I think this raises some serious red flags.

If you offer a great business opportunity and tell people they will be able to make a good living as a pampered chef consultant, why not share their earnings with them?

The purpose of this is to hide things because their consultants don’t make a significant amount of money.

Who Is Pampered Chef MLM For?

Evidently, this company may be suitable for those who enjoy cooking and are knowledgeable about various cooking tools.

Without this, it will be difficult to sell items that are overpriced and unfamiliar to you.

Recruiting new members is difficult, so it’s also ideal for people who have experience with MLM.

Pampered Chef MLM Review: Final Verdict

Here comes the conclusion of my Pampered Chef MLM  review. Overall, I don’t recommend joining Pampered Chef MLM.

Why join a multilevel marketing company when there are more scalable, sustainable long-term business options available? You won’t get anywhere with them.

MLMs are doomed to failure. It is the worst business model.

It is only the owner who makes money from it.

It means that people who join Pampered Chef in order to make money end up losing their money, which results in the company’s profit.

MLMs make money when you lose money.

Also, I hate selling to friends and family members. I hate recruiting and begging people to buy my products.

If you really want to make money online, I have a better recommendation for you, which is to make a full-time income from home. Most importantly, it’s 100% legit and sustainable. Let me tell you more in the next section.

Pampered Chef MLM FAQs

1. How To Make Money From Pampered Chef?

Pampered Chef offers two ways to earn money, just like any traditional MLM company.

  • People who need their products are selling them directly to them.
  • Recruiting people under you and making money from their sales

However, you have to give them some money before you start making money from Pampered Chef.

2. How To Join Pampered Chef?

If you’re interested in joining Pampered Chef, you simply need to visit their website, fill out your information, and wait for them to contact you.

You need to purchase a Pampered Chef consultant kit in order to register as a Pampered Chef consultant.

3. Is Pampered Chef Overpriced?

We find it hard to comprehend how a multitude of products purchased for only $259 can be flipped for upwards of $1000.

Consequently, it is difficult to imagine how a regular person could make money with Pampered Chef without some high-level sales training.

We may find the products themselves to be overpriced.

4. How much do Pampered Chef consultants make?

Consultants at Pampered Chef are paid according to their sales levels.

Please review their compensation plan below:

  • 20% commission rate for $1 to $749 monthly sales.
  • 22% commission rate for $750 to $1249 monthly sales.
  • 23% commission rate for $1250 to $2449 monthly sales.
  • 24% commission rate for $2500 to $3999 monthly sales.
  • 25% commission rate for over $4000 monthly sales.

In comparison to any other network marketing company, Pampered Chef offers a pretty solid compensation plan that can compete with any network marketing company.

However, making money is very hard.

5. Why I Don’t Recommend Joining Pampered Chef MLM?

It is no different from any other multilevel marketing company in that the training you receive will be a sales pitch that you are supposed to share with family and friends.

When you read Pampered Chef mlm reviews online from actual consultants, you’ll find that many of them aren’t able to make a full-time income out of it and are unhappy with it.

When no one buys, parties can become quite costly.

Even if you have the hottest kitchen gadgets, you can’t just give them away for free to anyone who shows up at the parties.

Even though Pampered Chef has an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau, there are a lot of complaints against them.

Another reason why I don’t like this type of business model and company is how cheaply these products appear on Amazon.

When it’s easy to click on an ad on social media that takes them to Amazon and offers the pizza stone at a consultant rate, why would someone go to a Pampered Chef party?
