Online Verdict Review – Scam or Legit? Exposed!

Are you looking for an Online Verdict review? But you may wonder if it is a scam.

So you decided to visit Online Verdict in your search for a way to make money online. I was interested in that too. What a new approach to making money on the internet.

But can you trust Online Verdict?

In this review, I’ll go over the history of Online Verdict and explain the service they offer. Based on this information, you can determine whether Online Verdict is a scam or not.

As a disclaimer, I’m not affiliated with Online Verdict. It means I’m not paid to write this review. So you can rest assured that you will get an honest and unbiased review from me.

At the end of this review, I’ll also tell you the best alternative to Online Verdict that has enabled me to make a full-time passive income online.

What Is Online Verdict?

In February 2004, we launched Online Verdict, the world’s first online jury platform. It serves as a national recruitment service for live arbitrations and has an estimated 800,000 members.

Individual attorneys and legal firms can recruit freelancers and independent contractors to serve as jurors.

As a juror, you hear arguments and take positions on court matters in your area.

Attorneys and law firms rely on your comments when evaluating a case. Your feedback also influences how they will approach future cases.

Like eJury and other jury simulation websites, Online Verdict’s platform is designed to help users make more informed judgments about their pending legal matters. You can help them prepare for arguments and objections by acting as a mock juror and giving them your honest feedback online.

Of course, there are advantages to freelancers and contractors serving as jurors on Online Verdict. For one, you can work from the comfort of your home (or any other location that suits you). The pay is fair… but I’ll go into more detail about the rates and how Online Verdict works in a moment.

The first thing you need to determine is whether Online Verdict is a scam or not.

Recommendation: Here’s The Best Alternative

Is Online Verdict a Scam or Legit?

After seeing so many similar programs, my first reaction is usually that they’re fraudulent. This was also my first impression of Online Verdict.

However, I’m aware that my first thoughts aren’t always correct.

There are several points of view from which to look at this situation. There are good and bad sides, but that’s the case with any organization.

Even though I can assure you that Online Verdict is real, I don’t want you to accept my word for it. To help you make an informed decision, it’s only reasonable that I give you some details.

Below I’ve described the standard procedures we use to detect and avoid fraud.

1. It’s free to join

Many scammers don’t directly target financial information (but instead collect your data).

However, it’s a positive sign that they aren’t directly asking for cash. Using Online Verdict as a juror doesn’t cost you anything. It’s a job for which you’re paid.

2. Legitimate Facebook Profile

Scam pages don’t last long because they don’t compensate their users.

Although the Facebook page isn’t particularly active, Online Verdict has been active since June 2017 and has over 200 followers at the time of this study.

Again, just because something has a Facebook page doesn’t mean it’s reputable. However, Online Verdict’s page is quite active, has been around for at least a year, and doesn’t have a lot of negative feedback or comments.

My first concern, which I’ll address below, is the relatively low number of followers and activity.

However, you aren’t limited to working only for Online Verdict when it comes to making money online.

3. Legit Twitter Account

There is also a verified Twitter account for Online Verdict that dates back to 2010. Actually, the fact that it is not particularly active is a positive indicator.

As with other scams I have come across, if they were real, you’d see a never-ending stream of complaints.

4. Legit Owner

The fact that OnlineVerdict.com is owned by a real person named Adrienne LeFevre is the best proof I could find that it is not a scam.

Focus groups, simulated trials, witness protection, jury selection, post-trial interviews, opening statements and closing arguments are just a few of the many services offered by Arienne LeFevre’s LeFevre Trial Consulting (LTC), which has been in business since 2002.

LTC has maintained an A+ rating with the BBB since its inception, and Adrienne LeFevre is well known and respected in the legal industry.

5. They’ve Been Around For Long Time

At the time of this review of Online Verdict, the company has been around for almost 17 years, and the domain name (onlineverdict.com) was first registered in 2004.

If you use Online Verdict, you will not be cheated. The company was founded in February 2004 by Adrienne LeFevre, who also runs LeFevre Trial Consulting, so it is a legal company. It is an official source for finding participants for in-person trials conducted for practice purposes.

Red Flags of Online Verdict

I want to clarify that I’m not calling these points “red flags” to cast doubt on the veracity of Online Verdict. Their claims can be trusted.

Even if a company exists, that’s no guarantee that it’s a good fit for you or that you’ll make a lot of money there. Red flag is probably too strong a term, but I didn’t know what else to call them.

It just didn’t sound right to talk about things that were unclear or had a very low activity level.

Few reviews from adjudicators indicate that Online Verdict is a company not to be involved with, but equally few adjudicators have written reviews praising the company.

1. Unimpressive social media presence

While it’s true that Online Verdict’s social media presence lends credibility to the company, I find it odd that there’s not more activity, given that it’s a user-focused company.

  • Their Facebook profile is relatively inactive, with only about 500 followers, which is low for a company that has been in business since 2004.
  • On Twitter, they currently have about 50 followers.
  • Your LinkedIn account currently has 17 followers, which means few people know or use Online Verdict.

Simply put, my opinion is that while it’s wonderful if Online Verdict doesn’t have many customers, that could also indicate that they don’t have many studies available for you to evaluate.

2. Few Online Verdict Reviews

Similar to what I just said, the lack of significant activity on Online Verdict is not necessarily an indication of problems. It merely suggests that they may not be very helpful in providing work.

I am also not sure that there is much demand for online adjudicators.

For example, there are only two out of five stars for them on Facebook.

3. BBB profile

The fact that Online Verdict isn’t accredited by the Better Business Bureau is irrelevant. Accreditation isn’t free, and for most businesses the expense is disproportionate to the benefits.

However, I’ve also seen that they can be found at NR (No Rating), which again might indicate that they aren’t used very much.

So my biggest concern is that there’s not much to do here, which is fine. Although I think being an online judge is a fascinating and fun way to earn some extra money, it’s far from the only one.

How Does Online Verdict Work?

1. Sign Up

Registering with Online Verdict is easy and free; all you need is a username and password. In order to use the services, you will also need to provide information about your profile.

Remember that, like market research websites, they need to collect information about your demographic data. They only need the following information from you:

  • Name
  • Mailing address
  • Date of birth
  • Marital status
  • Ethnicity
  • Employment status

Once your profile is complete, you can take cases in the federal district courts in your state or country.

2. Wait for Cases and Assignments

If you meet the criteria for the cases listed in the Online Verdict database, you will be notified by email.

You will then have the option to accept or decline a case review invitation. The case or assignment is offered on a first-come, first-served basis, so you should keep that in mind if you are interested.

Only 25-50 potential jurors are selected for each case, so seats are filled quickly.

3. Accept a Case

When you take on a case or project, you must agree to the confidentiality policy. Because it is a legal matter, confidentiality is essential.

To decide whether or not to accept a case, you must read through the case material. Most cases are also accompanied by a questionnaire, which you should, of course, answer honestly.

As a juror, you will be asked for your honest opinion, so there is no right or wrong answer.

Online Verdict Pay

The monthly payment plan at Online Verdict is reliable. After you submit the closed case, you will receive a check in the mail within 1-2 weeks.

As stated on the website, you can earn between $20 and $60 for just 20 minutes of work.

The complexity of the case determines how much you will be paid.

Online Verdict Requirements

If you want to use Online Verdict, you need to meet two main requirements:

  1. You must be a US citizen
  2. You must be at least 18 years old

The fact that Online Verdict pays by check guarantees that you’re providing a legitimate US address.

Pros of Online Verdict

  • Online Verdict is reliable. Since the internet is full of scams and misleading promises, it’s always nice to find a genuine company and technique to make money online.
  • Online Verdict profession is undoubtedly one of the most interesting professions out there.
  • It’s very educational, especially if you’re interested in law and legal issues or go to school to work in this field later.

Cons of Online Verdict

  • Being an internet juror is certainly not a full-time or even part-time profession. It may make you some money when cases are available, but it is not a reliable source of income.
  • Income is not a passive asset. The ability to create assets that generate passive income is a major benefit of the online profession. As exciting as being an online juror may be, you are still trading hours for money.

Other Mock Jury Sites

You work as an independent contractor with OnlineVerdict, so you have the flexibility to join competitors if you wish.

Even though OnlineVerdict is one of the best, it’s good to have multiple backups in case things do not go so well.

EJURY

When it comes to online referee services, eJury is one of the most well-known options for potential participants.

All participants must be at least 18 years old and reside in the United States to participate.

Neither felony nor misdemeanor convictions are allowed.

In order to match you with relevant cases in your area, eJury will ask you for some basic information and some information explaining your demographics during the registration process.

The attorney will tell you the facts of the case you are working on, the questions he or she plans to use at trial, and additional questions that will give you a chance to share your thoughts on the matter.

Like a jury in a real trial, you will have the opportunity to reach a verdict based on the evidence presented.

You can expect to earn between $5 and $10 per case, with the latter being the norm.

In most cases, you’ll be able to review the evidence, ask any relevant questions, and reach a verdict in less than a minute.

According to eJury, a case takes 35 minutes on average, so you can earn $20 or more per hour.

SIGN UP DIRECT

When a case comes up in your area, this firm will randomly select someone from your area from its database of potential jurors.

In most cases, you will not be limited to virtual participation.

In order to mediate and help settle most disputes, you will need to appear in person and discuss the details of the issues in dispute.

The facts of the case and the arguments of the attorneys are open for discussion, and your thoughts are welcome.

Volunteer jurors can earn up to $100 per day.

In just a few minutes, you can submit your application through the website.

Those selected can be contacted by email or phone.

VIRTUAL JURY

If you’re interested in participating in online focus groups to help attorneys resolve cases, you’ve come to the right place.

You can sign up with your name, email address, and country of residence.

Virtual Jury will contact you when local cases need your help.

After that, you’ll learn more about the case and your compensation.

Within two weeks after a case is closed, you’ll receive your compensation by mail.

Online Verdict Review: Final Verdict

You aren’t alone in your quest to make money online. Yes, I get it. Since I work online as a freelancer, I can relate to how you feel and assure you that it can be done. I’m able to make a living entirely from my online activities.

While it’s true that you can make money with Online Verdict, it’s not a reliable money stream.

The only thing that worries me is that there don’t seem to be many jobs available, as I’ve discovered in my research.

Unfortunately, we non-Americans can’t get our hands on them since they’re sold exclusively in the United States.

However, if you’re interested in earning $20 to $60 for 20 to 60 minutes of work, you should look into them more.

There are other ways to make money online if you aren’t accepted or there aren’t enough cases for you to consider.

You may be a full-time student or a single father of a child. Maybe you’ve health problems that prevent you from working regularly, or you loathe your current job and would do anything to get rid of it.

In this case, a web-based company is just what you need. Let me tell you the best way to make money online in the next section.
