What is EcoShield?

Ecoshield Pest Control is located in Hicksville, Long Island. They service all five boroughs of New York City as well as the surrounding areas. They are a franchise for a national pest control company that operates throughout the United States.

Ecoshield specializes in contracting for monthly or as-needed pest control services. Pests the company can remove include ants, cockroaches, termites, fleas, flies, spiders, bed bugs, wasps and rodents

The system begins with the initial service, which involves removing all adult pests from the home or business and installing a barrier. As part of this service, the company inspects the interior and exterior of the building to be treated. The following service is based on killing pest eggs and preventing their growth. According to the company, its environmentally friendly products should be used seasonally to keep pests at bay.

Ecoshield offers free estimates and can visit you at your home or business at any time. People leaving reviews for this company often mention sales pitches at the front door, where a salesperson discusses the need for pest control and uses similar tactics to convince the home or business owner to sign a contract for ongoing service

Many of the negative comments about this company are about the way they sell or how they get you to sign a long-term contract, rather than the quality of their products

Reviewers often praise the work of Ecoshield technicians in Hicksville, New York. Customers also appreciate that the company is always on time and delivers high-quality results.

What Products or Services Does EcoShield Offer?

Ecoshield offers low toxicity products that can be used by companies in a variety of industries. Pests are attracted to food establishments that require a specific application and product. Ecoshield also works with schools, office buildings, retail stores and lodging establishments such as hotels and motels.

Ecoshield’s services for a home cost about $200 per month with a monthly contract, which is in the mid-range. Some extras, such as spraying for different types of pests, can increase your bill. Commercial customers usually have to pay more, but the amount varies depending on the size of the space and the frequency of treatment.

The environmentally friendly products and treatments the company offers are said to be safe for pets, children and people with health problems. Ecoshield’s website has a full list of products, as well as information about each one.

If you need pest control services, Ecoshield should be able to help you right away, but the company’s main focus is the permanent removal and prevention of insects and rodents. Many customers, perhaps not fully understanding the company’s promise of long-term service, have criticized its door-to-door sales methods.

What is MLM?

Before we get into EcoShield MLM, let me explain what MLM is and how it differs from traditional business models.

Multilevel marketing companies are also known as direct sales companies or network marketing companies.

An MLM company does not pay you a salary.

You make money by recruiting others to join your company instead of selling products. When you hire someone and they start making money, you get a commission on the sales and the people they recruit.

The whole thing has multiple levels (hence multi-level).

Imagine a triangle. If the person at the top of the triangle recruits ten people, and each of those ten people recruits ten more people, and each of those ten people recruits ten more people, you will receive commissions from all the people in the triangle because they are all part of your direct downline (in an MLM, the people below you are called your ‘downline” and you are their ‘upline’).

You can earn $1100 if you refer 10 people.

Even if your MLM company offers a wide range of products, most people prefer to refer others because it allows them to earn a lifetime of passive income, whereas if they sold one product, they would only get a one-time commission.

The people at the top make a lot of money because the money trickles down to the top of the triangle, while the people at the bottom make the least.

The ultimate goal of someone working for a company like EcoShield MLM is to have as many people as possible in their ‘downline” so they can earn large amounts of passive income.

Is EcoShield A Pyramid Scheme?

A Ponzi scheme recruits members by promising them money or services in exchange for recruiting others.

A pyramid scheme is unsustainable and often a scam because members lose money as the number of recruits increases.

Those who want to join must pay a fee to an organization that operates a pyramid scheme. The organization shares a portion of the money collected from each additional recruited member as a reward.

The directors of the organization receive a portion of these payments (those at the top of the pyramid).

The scam is profitable for the directors whether they work or not. It is in the interest of the members to recruit members and funnel money to the top of the pyramid.

Such organizations almost never sell valuable goods or services. The scam’s only source of revenue is recruiting new members and asking for more money from current members, because no goods or services are produced.

Pyramid systems are very similar to the mathematics of exponential growth. The size of a pyramid increases dramatically with each step. A pyramid scheme would have to grow infinitely to make money for everyone who participates. This is impossible due to the finite population of the planet.

The scam will fail if there are no new recruits and other sources of income. Since the largest concepts are at the bottom of this geometric progression, the majority of people live in the lowest layer of the pyramid.

Workers in pyramid schemes typically promote the company rather than the product they are selling. Eventually, no one at the bottom of the pyramid will make money, while only those at the top will profit.

The people at the top of the pyramid typically make money, while the people at the bottom typically lose money. Being at the bottom of a pyramid scheme, the majority of participants lose money.

The members at the bottom of the system have no chance to benefit if the system fails, but they have already paid.

So is EcoShield a Ponzi scheme?

No. EcoShield does not work like a Ponzi scheme. It is possible for its members to make money by selling their products.

They do not have to make their money solely through recruitment.

Cons and Complaints of EcoShield MLM

1. The Good Reviews are Written by EcoShield MLM’s Affiliates

You probably have found some other reviews of EcoShield MLM and all of them are saying good words.

But they all get paid to write, which means they get a commission if you join EcoShield MLM through their links. So their words are often biased and not trustworthy.

These reviews are simply sales pages and tell you nothing about the hidden costs and the difficulties of actually making money.

Should you, with common sense, trust someone who has a conflict of interest and receives a large compensation by “rating” the program? Probably not. They are not reviewing, they are selling!

Therefore, I recommend you read the reviews of those who are not members of EcoShield MLM.

2. Very Few People Can Make Money With EcoShield

Success is difficult to achieve with an MLM company like EcoShield.

You can look at the statistics that say 72.5 percent to 99.9 percent of MLM members lose money.

The reason is that MLMs have sales quotas that require members to keep selling products to stay active and be eligible for commissions.

They do not get paid if they do not meet the quota.

As a result, many MLM members lose a significant amount of money before they have even recruited a person to the company.

3. Losses From EcoShield MLM Are Reframed As Investments

EcoShield MLM uplines often portray their financial losses as ‘investments’ in their business to keep their reps in an MLM system, dangling the carrot of future financial freedom

In reality, however, they are not investments. You are unlikely to get the money back. And the return on the “investment” is negative in most cases. So claiming that it is an investment is a scam.

4. EcoShield MLM is a Cult

Why do people continue to work for EcoShield if it seems so bad? Our research of MLMs has shown that they all have a cult-like corporate culture.

MLM reps are actively discouraged from critical thinking. They are chastised and even isolated if they ask questions that deviate from the ‘this company is awesome” mentality.

MLMs, like abusive partners, encourage you to isolate yourself from anyone who questions your involvement.

Those who leave an MLM are labeled as failures or bad people/influencers, and reps are not allowed to contact them.

Rejection from people they once considered practically family is one of the most devastating losses former MLM reps experience.

MLMs often expect their reps to prioritize their events and their business over their personal lives, making them even more involved in the business while separating them from their family and friends.

5. You May Need to Purchase EcoShield Products Yourself

Unless you have a large network of friends, relatives, neighbors, etc., you may have to buy products yourself every month. This is a futile endeavor for everyone involved.

I think it’s pretty ridiculous if you have to buy the products you are trying to sell yourself. But this is quite normal for people who join MLMs like EcoShield. That’s why you will lose a lot of money in the long run, not to mention that you will not make any money.

6. EcoShield Products are Overpriced

Like other MLMs, EcoShield offers overpriced products. There are many other brands that offer similar products, but at lower prices.

Therefore, it may be difficult for you to sell EcoShield products because your potential customers can buy the same product elsewhere at a much lower price. This explains why most MLM members focus only on recruiting instead of selling products.

7. EcoShield’s MLM Business Model Has a Bad Reputation

Some people have benefited financially by joining a network marketing/MLM company. Unfortunately, most people who join an MLM company are left with nothing but regrets and a lot of useless products they failed to sell.

An MLM like EcoShield is flawed from the ground up. The distribution of commissions is skewed towards the top.

The majority of the top level members and pioneers make the most money, while the bottom level members do not even break even after a few months.

As a result, many people do not consider EcoShield a serious business opportunity.

8. Exaggerated Claims Of Income

EcoShield makes exaggerated income claims like any other MLM company, but in reality very few people make a living promoting EcoShield.

EcoShield’s low retention rate can also be discouraging, with less than 41% of distributors being active.

According to EcoShield’s payouts to distributors, over 99% of EcoShield distributors never make a profit.

9. EcoShield Is Like A Pyramid Scheme In Disguise

If you want to avoid losing money every month, MLM will actually encourage you to recruit people.

Any system that requires you to recruit people to make money will eventually look like this.

EcoShield is not a pyramid scheme in the traditional sense, because you can make money selling their products.

However, to earn a living, you actually have to recruit others.

10. Recruiting is Required to Succeed

This is why I don’t recommend MLMs to people. MLMs like EcoShield go to great lengths to recruit. Eight out of ten ways to make money with EcoShield require recruiting. If you don’t recruit, you’ll lose money at the end of the day.

My #1 recommended platform is different. You can make a 4, 5 or even 6 figure passive income by promoting and selling products you really like. You don’t have to recruit people, you’ve to recommend useful and great products. I’ll tell you more about this at the end of this EcoShield review.

Positive and Negative Feedbacks From Members of EcoShield

Positive Feedbacks

  • Treats a wide variety of pests in the New York area.
  • Use environmentally friendly, low-toxicity products.
  • Each technician is courteous, knowledgeable, and helpful.

Negative Feedbacks

  • Questionable sales tactics

Is EcoShield a Scam?

I cannot say EcoShield MLM is a scam for legal reasons. A scam is defined as “a dishonest scheme; a fraud” by the Oxford Living Dictionary.

Can you make money selling EcoShield products? We already know that the majority of EcoShield distributors do not make money. A few do make money, but only if you put in a lot of effort. And they usually make a lot of money from EcoShield by recruiting aggressively.

Also, EcoShield makes blatantly disingenuous and irresponsible marketing claims to recruit members. Therefore, some people consider EcoShield MLM as a scam.

My #1 recommended platform, however, has seen a lot of beginners earn four figures a month after joining it for a year.

I will tell more about my #1 recommended platform at the end of this review.

EcoShield Review: Final Verdict

Here comes the conclusion of my EcoShield MLM review. Overall, I don’t recommend joining EcoShield MLM to make money.

You will have a tough time at the beginning when you are prospecting and trying to find recruiters to add to your EcoShield commission.

The worst part is that you practically have to ask your family and friends to join your EcoShield business opportunity. It’s not fun.

Your upline is constantly following up with you to encourage you to buy more Business Support Material even as you struggle to get people to join your downline.

The reality is that you’re likely to lose more money. Statistics confirm this as well. 99% of people who join an MLM break even or lose money, according to a case study on the FTC’s website.

People who join these MLM-type businesses often feel under pressure to succeed, and that is one of the main reasons they leave.

Why not consider starting your own online business if you want to earn money and have a flexible schedule?

Thus, you can choose what you want to promote rather than having someone tell you what you must promote.

Let me tell you how to build an online business in a legit way to make passive income online in the next section. This has allowed me to make a full-time income in a year. Most importantly, unlike MLM models, It’s 100% legit and sustainable.
