Are you looking for an e-Rewards review? But you may wonder if it is a scam.
Making money with paid surveys is a common theme when it comes to working from home. Taking online surveys can be a great way to earn some extra money if you are stuck at home due to an illness or taking care of young children.
It goes without saying that you need to be wary of scammers if you want to make money online.
Therefore, in this e-Rewards review I will describe how the programme works, what features it offers, and most importantly, whether it is a real opportunity or just another online scam.
As a disclaimer, I’m not affiliated with e-Rewards. It means I’m not paid to write this review. So you can rest assured that you will get an honest and unbiased review from me.
At the end of this review, I’ll also tell you the best alternative to e-Rewards that has enabled me to make a full-time passive income online.
What is e-Rewards?
In the market research space, e-Rewards (also known as e-Rewards Opinion Panel) pays its members for their time and contribution in the form of electronic rewards in exchange for completing online surveys.
Headquartered in Texas and one of the oldest online survey sites, e-Rewards was founded in 1999 and is currently owned by Research Now Group.
The operation of online survey sites is conventional. Market research firms like e-Rewards are hired by companies to survey their target demographics and provide consulting services to interpret the results.
Can we trust e-Rewards?
Participating in paid surveys and market research through sites like e-Rewards is becoming increasingly popular as a means of supplementing income.
It’s important to know that e-Rewards is not a good survey site like some of the other sites out there.
How Does e-Rewards Work?
e-Rewards is a paid survey site, similar to Opinion Outpost and Vindale Research, which means it partners with big companies like Best Buy and Twitter that are eager to pay you for your time and contributions.
If you want to participate in the e-Rewards Opinion Panel program, you need to be invited by one of the partner companies (e.g. Best Buy or Twitter).
You can earn money online with Survey Junkie and Inbox Dollars if you’ve not received an invitation to e-Rewards.
So, if you’re at home for health reasons, have to take care of small children, or don’t have enough employment opportunities, an online business might be just what you need.
With all the misinformation out there, it’s important to have a plan for getting started.
Signing up for e-Rewards is easy if you have been invited to do so (and free). After confirming your email address, you fill out a short profile form that requires you to provide your name, date of birth, gender and other personal information before you have 30 days to complete a survey to sign up.
Considering the privacy issues companies are currently facing, I can understand why some people might be concerned about this new measure.
However, in order to determine your exact demographics and connect you with appropriate surveys, you will be required to disclose some personal information when participating in online surveys.
However, if you do not mind sharing certain personal information, that may not be a problem.
Who Is e-Rewards For?
Let’s face it, filling out internet surveys won’t make you rich, but it’s a great way to earn some extra cash. For those just entering the world of online business, filling out surveys is a great way to test the waters, make a few bucks, and learn what it takes to be successful.
Some alternatives to e-Rewards that pay you to take surveys are Survey Junkie and Inbox Dollars.
With Inbox Dollars, you get paid for activities such as searching the Internet, playing games, and watching videos online- all activities you normally do online.
Who is e-Rewards Not For?
If your goal is to make serious money on the Internet, e-Rewards is probably not for you.
Making money online has several advantages, but the biggest one is the ability to influence others. It allows you to do the work once and profit from it repeatedly. You can earn a truly passive income.
However, E-Rewards and other paid surveys don’t offer leverage. The pay is low and only happens once for each completed piece of work.
The “compound interest” effect of doing something once and being compensated for it multiple times is unbeatable financially, regardless of your ambitions.
To have more free time and pursue your interests, you should start a business online.
To cut through the clutter of false claims and half-truths, you need to have a plan to get started.
Is e-Rewards a Scam or Legit?
This is a question I cannot answer with certainty.
I will explain in more detail how e-Rewards is structured, what the incentives are, etc.
However, I should warn you that e-Rewards has some serious flaws that I did not mention above.
Is that evidence that they are dishonest? No. Therefore, I have no choice but to claim that they are genuine) However, the first problem is typical of many online survey sites in general.
It’s quite frustrating to spend time filling out a survey, only to get a message halfway through or near the end saying that you “do not qualify”.
Usually this happens when your survey responses indicate that you are not the ideal candidate (or part of the target audience) for the study in question.
While this is annoying, be aware that this is a common (and sometimes required) practice with surveys to ensure reliability.
In addition, questionnaires may contain a series of similar questions designed to measure your level of concentration. Many test takers use randomization to get through the questions quickly.
Therefore, you may be disqualified or have your account suspended if you give inconsistent answers to similar questions during the survey.
Of course, you will not get paid if you do not meet the requirements. At least not completely.
E-Rewards does not award points for failed surveys, but you can still earn up to 25 points if you try.
However, this is the main argument against taking online surveys and a common criticism of them. It is claimed that once your data is collected, they force you to complete the survey and do not compensate you for your time.
Please understand that I am not accusing e-Rewards of anything; this is just a common criticism of survey software in general.
The second problem is much more serious, and it becomes clear when you start reading the many complaints and reviews of e-Rewards.
e-Rewards Reviews and Complaints
For the record, e-Rewards is a reputable company that’s been around for a long time and has a good reputation as a reliable survey site.
In a minute, I’ll address some of the problems with e-Rewards, although it’s important to point out that there are also good comments on the Internet.
To make matters worse, there are also some complaints.
One big problem they’re currently facing is complaints from members that they aren’t getting paid. For some of them, this involves hundreds of dollars.
The Better Business Bureau has issued a warning due to the high number of complaints.
Not paying employees is the ultimate abuse of trust.
e-Rewards takes money from the companies it partners with without giving you any of it in return for your time and effort. This is no joke.
It’s the same as your company simply not paying you anymore and ignoring your calls when you try to find out why.
If there were only one or two complaints, it could be dismissed as an honest mistake.
However, if there are hundreds of complaints, one may begin to suspect foul play. I claim NOT, that e-Rewards is intentionally defrauding its customers, but I can not rule out the possibility either.
I only saw what I saw on the BBB website; I am not going to hypothesize or make accusations against e-Rewards.
I will give e-Rewards credit for addressing many of the issues raised. Some were, like the $800 payment described below, and others were not addressed to the customer’s satisfaction.
Concerns about re-Rewards, such as the disqualification issue mentioned above and the inability to get a response when emailing the company, are typical of the survey industry as a whole.
It’s not great, but it should not be a reason to cancel the contract.
According to users, e-Rewards pays more than the average online survey company.
How Much Does e-Rewards Pay?
I could not find any information about e-Rewards’ pay rates, but some sources say you can earn $4.00 or more per hour. If that’s true, that’s twice as much as you can earn from online surveys.
Opinion Points are awarded for taking surveys (e-rewards currency). For every 100 points you earn, you get about 33.33 cents. According to the current point-to-dollar ratio, you need 7500 points to buy a $25 gift card.
As for the gift cards, they work with fifty or more stores (although from what I gather from member reviews, this changes periodically and the selection is not as wide as it used to be).
e-Rewards Gift Cards and Other Rewards
- e-gift cards (you should receive them 1 – 2 hours after redemption)
- Gift cards in physical form (4 – 6 weeks)
- Subscriptions to magazines
- Air miles from airlines
Some gift cards have a $10 minimum amount for which you can redeem your points (or e-rewards currency).
e-Rewards now requires cell phone or landline identification when redeeming points, which should not be a problem for most users. You will be given a redemption code similar to that used for two-factor authentication.
This is meant to improve the security of your account, but some users might find it annoying.
One user has expressed concern that the real reason e-Rewards requires a phone number is to send spam.
e-Rewards Customer Support
You can reach e-helpful Rewards customer service via a convenient in-app link. You can contact the team via the website or at [email protected] if you have any questions or concerns.
You can also find a Frequently Asked Questions section (FAQ) on the company’s website to help you with any questions you may have.
Pros of e-Rewards
- Payouts higher than usual.
- The minimum payback criterion is relatively low.
- You can search for surveys in your member account (and do not have to wait for them to be emailed).
Cons of e-Rewards
- It’s hard to ignore so many concerns about not getting paid. I can not say with certainty that you will be rewarded for your time spent filling out surveys, whether e-Rewards is reputable or not (they are reputable, but these concerns about payment should not exist).
- There is no referral program.
- There is no opportunity for passive revenue from surveys.
e-Rewards Review: Final Verdict
As you may have guessed, this isn’t my preferred strategy for making money online.
Of course, I could be wrong.
However, you can find what you’re looking for by taking paid surveys online. It takes little effort, is easy to do and can help you earn some extra money. Certainly, only a small amount.
You can also try some alternative survey sites like Survey Junkie and Inbox Dollars if you aren’t satisfied with your earnings from e-Rewards.
No, you can’t pay bills with surveys, but if you’ve never made money online before, they can be a stepping stone to something bigger.
If you’ve to stay home due to a health issue, injury, or the needs of young children, an internet business could be ideal.
Maybe you’re just tired of being someone else’s employee.
If that’s the case, you need to know how (and where) to start your own business on the Internet to achieve your goals.
Given the number of complaints and reported errors, I’m not ready to recommend e-Rewards, but ultimately I’ll leave that decision up to you. You can join without paying a dime, and it’s a real organization. Their surveys used to be excellent, but long-time members feel they’ve gotten worse lately.
How do you get invited to e-Rewards?
A direct invitation to e-Rewards is not available. Apparently you have to give your email address to one of their joint venture partners, and even then you may not receive an invitation.
If you have signed up for the partner website Opinion Outpost, which is part of the parent company Dynata, you may increase your chances of receiving an offer to join e-Rewards.
Do e-Rewards points expire?
There doesn’t appear to be a time limit on your e-Rewards points. Don’t let your points expire without checking first if you’re afraid.
Is e-Rewards a legitimate site?
You can count on e-Rewards to be a real resource. It’s possible to earn money by participating in surveys if you’re invited to join the panel.
Even though this is a fun pastime, you shouldn’t expect to become a millionaire overnight.
Nevertheless, e-Rewards can be useful if you want to earn some extra money in your free time.
